Chassis with engine

Looking to go lemons racing. What does the forum have for $300 assuming I have to repair the engine.$500 total budget even with fixing the engine.

at 500 your best bet is to find some idiot that thinks the motor is blown but really just flooded but thats kinda a dick move. 8s are cheap but 500 for a running one is a different story

How is this a dick move? I've also seen a few for over $1000 with blown motors and the sellers really don't have a clue what's wrong with it. Hell one didn't know that you frequently need to red line it. I asked if he had compression checked it lately. No he hadn't, I don't even think the guy inspected the rotor or injector. All he knew was the apex seal was bad. Supposedly this was a project car.
Mainly these are the types of people I'm running into. Ones that see it as a cheap platform but don't know squat about rotory engines.

You can probably find a broken RX-8 for 500-1000. Just don't expect to fix the issue for practically nothing.

Just to properly reseal these motors costs anywhere from 800-1600 dollars. That's not accounting for damage that may have occurred to the hard parts.

You're not going to find a dimwit with an RX8 that needs a new starter that will sell it to you for 300 dollars on an RX8 forum. I'd like to think even the most incompetent of us is more competent than that.

I can always try.
