2010 Grand Touring, Manual 46k miles Black Leather Interior 6-disc changer, XM, Bluetooth Sunroof Tires: Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2, ~9,000 miles on them. They have a 5 year/50k mile tread warranty Oil changes every 7,500 miles at Mazda dealer All fluids flushed at 30k (brake, manual transmission oil, coolant) by dealer Ignition coils, plugs, and wires replaced at 37.5k I'll throw in an extra set of rear brake pads I think I'm asking a fair price, I'll listen to reasonable offers and ignore any lowballs. No trades. Located in Raleigh, NC. |

Every 7,500 miles is the right schedule for the RX-8.. considering it needs about 1 quart every 1k miles you're pretty much always cycling some amount of fresh oil in there anyway.
If I ever got an oil warning light on this car I'd fly over to the nearest place that sells motor oil. Not something to mess with on the '8. |

I think in most people's books following a manufacturer's service recommendation does not fall under "not maintaining the car properly". I understand there's thousands of opinions out there on how often oil should be changed--not just for this car--but if I had to pick one opinion to trust would be the guys who designed the car. |
Engine oil analysis tell you when it's best to change oil. For many drivers 3K is about right for standard conventional oil.
