The time has come to sell my beloved 2009 R3. She has been regularly maintained (oil changes every 4000km) and has been garaged kept since day one.

Here are the details:

Modifications:

- Authentic BBS RGRs (18 x 9.5 +20) in diamond black pearl with 265/35/18 Bridgestone RE11s. The tires are on their last season and will need to be replaced soon.
- Exoticspeed R1-T catback exhaust. My RX8 was the test vehicle for exotic speed and I was told that this is the only gen 2 RX8 with an R1-T exhaust on the road. Very daily drivable and much better sounding than the RB dual exhaust in my opinion. R1-T Exhaust Mazda RX8 R3 2009-ON | EXOTICSPEED INC.

Do you (or anyone else) know if this would pass smog in California with the modifications installed?

 

I'm not too sure what the specifics are with smog in California, but I am still running the stock cat on a stock tune. I'm hoping that other California owners can chime in?

 

None of the listed modifications should affect CA smog certification. Any catback exhaust modifications should be fine.

Midpipes or cat deletes, headers, turbochargers or superchargers are not allowed. Same goes for engine swaps.

 

Thanks for chiming in VFX001. For anyone interested that already has a set of wheels picked out, I'll take $2000 off the asking price without the BBS RGRs. It will come with stock 18" RX8 wheels
