Description
Up for sale is my Velocity Red Mica 2005 Mazda RX-8 with the 6 speed manual transmission. It currently has 53,1xx miles on it. It has been my trusted daily driver and the only reason for selling is because we need something more spacious and better equipped to handle upstate snow (looking at SUVs). I also need to get something the wife can drive without worrying. Two cars is out of the question right now. I've explored a few scenarios where I can keep the car but they are just not feasible now. You better be sure when I complete my degree I'll be back in an RX8! The car is equipped with the Touring package which includes everything from the Grand Touring package minus the heated and powered leather seats. The inside is black/gray suede cloth. This is my second RX8, my first had leather seats and I made sure my second RX8 had cloth interior due to comfort and not having to worry about the leather cracking as it aged. The touring package this car has includes but is not limited to xenon headlamps, sport suspension, bigger disc brakes, a moonroof, fog lights, stability and traction control, and the Bose premium sound package. The car is also equipped with the factory rear spoiler. I have the clean title in hand ready for immediate transfer to a new owner. The previous owner had all maintenance done at a dealership so all maintenance done by him shows up on the Carfax and I have his receipts. Me being a DIY-er, I opted to do all the routine maintenance myself. The car is eligible for the extended rotary engine warranty until April 2014 or 100,000 miles. The car was a 2005 model but registered in April 2006 so that is the warranty start date. I have two sets of switchblade style keys and a third valet key. The Good:
The Bad:
Price and Viewing N.A.D.A Guides values the car at $12,900 while KBB values the car at $13,100. I am asking for $12,000. I am asking for $11,750. Selling price is now $11,000 due to keying, see post #14 for details: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8s-sale-w...5/#post4301481 I am in Astoria, NYC. Feel free to PM me to ask any additional questions, if you want the VIN or if you'd like to arrange for a viewing of the car. You can also text me at 347-223-6928 . See pics below and in the 4th post of this thread, I could not fit them all into this post due to image limits. Price drop to $11,000 .
Some asshole keyed the passenger wheel fender and the passenger door. I got most of the passenger keying off but by hand with some rubbing compound but I suspect (and will try) a good rotary buffer will remove even more of it. Here are pics of how the keying looks now: From far (can barely see the passenger door keying): Attachment 289173 Up close passenger door: Attachment 289174 Passenger side fender, what you see is all there is: Attachment 289175 |

Congrats on the sale..
How did you end up selling, and to who? |
It was an autotrader hit from someone local. Not a forum go-er. Not even looking to buy a car like this car primarily. I ended up selling for a bit less then I wanted too but alas I am picking up another car on Monday and just wanted to get rid of it.
