2005 RX8 - Only 26k, Sport, Xenon, Bluetooth, No Sunroof, Immaculate!

I'm very reluctantly selling my trusted daily driver of the last year, and only because I need seating for 5. I've purchased an Audi S8 as a replacement so it's time for the 8 to go. This is a fantastic car and with the sport package, no sunroof, and Konis it would be perfect for anyone that wanted to autocross.

Summary: 2005 Mazda RX8, 26k miles, 6-speed manual, super clean inside and out, second owner, private party with clean title in hand, $12,950 OBO. Please contact me at jessup3 at cox.net.

I am selling my immaculate and well equipped 2005 RX8. It is well optioned with the a 6-speed manual, sport package (includes bigger brakes, stiffer suspension, rear limited slip differential), optional pearl white metallic paint, cloth interior, factory xenon lighting, rear spoiler, 6-CD in dash changer, power windows/locks/mirrors, cruise control, ice cold A/C, leather wrapped steering wheel, tire pressure monitoring system, traction & stability control, front and side airbags, and steering wheel cruise and audio buttons. No moonroof which I saw as a positive, the stock RX8 unit adds weight up high which has a significant negative impact on handling. For those not familiar with the RX8, it has rear opening suicide doors that give it sedan practicality in a coupe body. Unlike most coupes the rear seats are actually usable, I've hauled four adults in reasonable comfort in this sports car. Try saying that with any of the competitors! I have added a Grom Audio Bluetooth kit that provides audio streaming and hands free phone with control through the steering wheel, as well as an iPod/iPhone cable located in the center cupholder. I have also added OEM rubber floor mats in addition to the excellent condition carpet mats, an OEM sunshade, as well as professional window tinting with a lifetime warranty. The previous owner installed a K&N panel filter as well as Koni adjustable struts, currently set at 25% front and 50% rear.

Cosmetically this car is in fantastic condition. The interior is incredibly clean with no stains, tears, etc. It still smells new, except for a few scratches on the plastic door sill panels and the center silver plastic trim it is fantastic. The exterior is excellent as well, with great condition original paint and body panels. No accidents, clean Carfax. There are a few small scratches, a couple of very subtle dents that I wasn't able to accurately photograph, and a chip in the windshield that is hidden by the rear view mirror, overall it is beautiful. Wheels are great with no curbing, only a few scratches around the lug nuts and on the spokes. The color is a beautiful and optional pearl white metallic that changes depending on the lighting, it's a great color for the RX8 and a big reason why I bought this particular car.

Mechanically it is excellent as well, everything works as it should. I bought this car planning to keep it for quite some time, and have maintained it as such. I replaced the coil packs, spark plugs, and spark plug wires as preventative maintenance, as the RX8 ignition system is known to be a weak point. I've also installed Bosch Icon wiper blades, replaced the pollen filter, replaced the engine drive belts, recent oil change, had an alignment done, and replaced the tires with new Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (fantastic tires). I have receipts for my service work that are summarized in an Excel file that I can email. I also have the original window sticker. Quite simply this is a great driving car and a LOT of fun. Excellent steering, excellent brakes, a great factory shifter with short and precise throws, an easy to modulate clutch, and a very responsive and smooth rotary engine that is happiest revving to 9000 RPM. The chassis is excellent as well, it's very stiff with an excellent suspension that provides a great ride/handling trade-off. Even with the Koni strut/shocks the ride is firm but not rough, it's a comfortable daily driver that is happy on a twisty road or the interstate. Overall it's just a really good cohesive package, every system on the car complements the others and contributes to making every drive fun. Over the years I've owned products from Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and others, the RX8 gives up nothing to any of the more expensive cars. These attributes helped land the RX8 on a number of magazine lists for top cars of the year, best handling, etc.

I bought this particular car because it was enthusiast owned and optioned exactly as I would have purchased it new, and maintained it as if I was going to keep it for a long time. Unfortunately it only has seating for four and I have a family of five, which has caused problems as of late. I have picked up an Audi S8 to replace it, so I'm reluctantly putting it up for sale. I have a clean KS title with no liens, and I'm located in NE Wichita. You can contact me at jessup3 at cox.net. I have 86 photos as well as a maintenance spreadsheet that I can email upon request. In addition I also have a set of nearly new snow tires mounted on OEM RX8 wheels that I would include for an additional $500.

I know Matt from some other car forums and I just want to say that you will not find a more meticulous owner that this.

While he has ADHD when it comes to cars, he is a buyers best friend, he buys sorts out, and enjoys cars. Then he will see something shiny, sells and starts over. Loss for him, good for you.

Good luck with the sale Matt. You are selling as I made a buy, I am really enjoying mine. Got to chase some Pelicans around the mountains, I am loving my R3.

Bump, price drop to $12,950. I spent far more to buy this car about one year ago, and it took me four months to find one this nice. I'm shocked that I still have it.
