Sold: 2004 Brilliant Black RX-8 GT, Fully Loaded w/ navi, a/t

4 Attachment(s)
I have a fully loaded Brilliant Black 2004 Mazda RX-8 with navigation, Grand Touring Package, and Appearance Package that I thought I was planning on trading in when I realized that I would rather let someone here take it for a good price than donate it to the dealership's pocket book.

As stated, this car it fully loaded and comes with some unique adds that I will toss in if the buyer is a fan <see below>...

2004 Mazda RX-8
Price: 7450 obo $5,990, if committed by Thursday PM and sold by Friday AM <--RPF1s negotiable
Color: Brilliant Black
Interior: Black Leather
Transmission: Automatic
Packages: Grand Touring Package
Appearance Package

Mazda Accessories:
-Piano Black B-Pillar Applique with chrome "RX-8" logo
-Chrome Fuel Filler Door
-Chrome Fender Strakes
-Rear Rotor Accent

Non-Mazda Accessories:
-Pioneer double-din full touch-screen head unit integrated to the stock Bose system
-AEM Cold Air Intake, plus one extra dry synthetic filter for easy maintenance (same as Mazdaspeed)
-BHR Resonated mid-pipe with DS Cat (installed to pass emissions after the failure of the stock cat)

Major Service History:
-New engine was installed by Mazda at 65k miles
-30k interval service was performed by Mazda at 95k miles.
-Spark plugs, coils, and wires changed out during 95k service.
-New Engine Mounts installed at 102k miles (makes a world of difference)

Here's where this gets interesting...
-Current Wheel/Tire set-up is OEM Wheels with Brand New (1month-old Blizzak tires)
-The Summer set-up (which I will include) is a set of Matte Black Enkei RPF1s (18x9.5, +45), the tires are 275/35/18 Michelins and have well-over 50% life remaining.

This car has never been tracked or modified beyond those items listed above.

It should go without saying, but I love this car. I dropped about 3k into maintenance in the last 10k miles, and would rather not take as significant a loss as the dealer would like me to. If I am going to take the loss, I'd rather get the car into the hands of someone who will enjoy it as much as i did.

The car has 106k on the odometer, and it has the minor dings that come with DC parking, but the overall state of the car is very good. If you are serious about the purchase, I would be happy to go with you to a dealer and get the compression tested (I haven't yet because it will just be a waste of money if I trade it in).

The reason that I am trading in the car is predominately financial and partially emotional. The emotional aspect is that I am now in a sales position where beating up a vehicle is pretty much mandatory (25+k miles per year), and i just can't put her through that after all these years. The financial side is that it will be a better tax write-off to purchase a new vehicle which i can dedicate to work only (without having the IRS questioning why my work vehicle is so sweet).

I will try to take some pictures in the morning when I stop for gas (and run her through the touch-free car wash).

Please contact me ASAP with any questions/interest. Depending on everyone's interest level and the dealer's final offer, I may trade her in as early as Wednesday night.

Thanks, as always. This is a great community and I hope someone can use this car to become a part of it. I'm sure I'll be back (hopefully with an RX-9 ;-) )

Fair: $8,528

Evening bump,

Price dropped to 5990 with RPF1s negotiable...this is bringing my asking price pretty darn close to the dealer number (now that i have it) + tax deduct.

Thanks, Stephen. You're darn right it. ;-)

Basically whoever buys it at this point would b paying trade-in plus covering my loss on the tax side from not trading it (7% here in MD).

There are two people who expressed interest, but I think they may not want/be able to pay what I need to break even with the trade and that would just be a poor business decision on my part.

Ladies & germs, she sells tomorrow AM or trades tomorrow afternoon, so, one way or the other, if you want afun car for a heck of a proce, let me know. There may also be a chance to sell the RPF1s separately, so feel free to start taking a number on those.

Sold (if you can really call it that at this price) to an RX7 turbo owner. I wish he would've traded me :-)
