{Detroit} 2004+, <50,000 mi, 6spd
My third post :). Hopefully many more to follow.
Anyway... I am looking to buy an RX8 immediately. Having recently had a deal fall through on account of a failed compression test, I would need the potential seller to be willing to have their car tested or provide the results of a recent test. I will absorb the cost of the test if the car passes. Looking for: Manual Transmission <50,000 Miles Prefer Grand Touring but will consider others Any color besides yellow I will consider modified cars but would prefer stock or MS products I am looking for a clean and well taken care of car. I will verify the service history with a dealer and expect there to be evidence if the car was user-maintained. Tires - tell me the brand, model, and wear. Autox/winter tires are a plus. I am willing to drive ~1 HR to meet you. My zip is 48335. For the right car, I can flex some on the price. Let's say $11,000 +/- $1,000 for now. PM me the VIN and links to high-res pictures. I will reply promptly with my email address and phone number if I am interested. |

I am thinking about selling my 04 RX, it is fully optioned. stock as a rock, attached is a pic of the door sticker.
It has a extraordinary extended warranty that is transferable ,$35 . I can scan and email a copy of the warranty, it is one of the best I have seen. Reason I am selling, my dealer found me a 09 R3. -- --Jim |

Digger,
Car looks nice. Do you mean to imply you are in the Michigan area? |
I'm just curious, which car locally failed the compression test (Is it on CL or autotrader)? I have looked at and test-driven a majority of the RX8's that have been for sale recently.
As far as your criteria, there is a Velocity Red RX8 grand touring in the used lot at Ralph Thayer in Livonia. It has ~35k miles and a new clutch and good tires. It was one of the nicer cars that I had driven. I think it's listed for 13.8, but you could try to offer them 12k and see what happens (It's been on the lot awhile now). |
Car was on CL. Send me a PM and I will give you the details. How recently did you drive the '05 at Thayer? I drove it a few weeks ago and asked them to fix the tail light seals and tension the shifter (trouble getting into reverse...they had just dropped the transmission to put a new clutch in). They wouldn't budge much on the price (other than putting on new winters) but a few weeks may have changed that.
What is your criteria? I can keep an eye out for you. |
I did not mean to imply that I was any where but sunny southern Kalifornia.
Tires..Potenza RE760 Sport @53,357 miles My 04 came from Oregan and transporting cost $500. dropped off in front of my house. My research revealed it was a repo with 34 k on the OD. and I'm owner number 4. All records I have can be made available to you. How much I paid, how much Kal extorted from me to get tags. even the front tires not cramped parking ticket, $61 or you can make an offer and we can see if it make $¢s. Hint 11k- plane fare or transport - registration = ball park offer. If the offer is to low, I'll tell the same thing I say to everyone. that is, " I will shave 500 pounds of the weight off the car and take my favorite decreasing radius on ramp until it breaks loose and raps around the adjacent light pole before I will sell for that price". As for having a compression test being performed absolutely, I will pay for that since it is my car, and is not a concern of mine at all. The 04 runs faster than the R3 I'm test driving. they are completely different cars and I like them both |
Digger,
I am looking for something more local and with fewer miles. Thank you for taking the time to inform me about your car. |

Is that the one from Thayer? It certainly looks like it. If so, good choice!
|
It is. I made a reasonable offer after your recommendation and they took it!
