Window Spots

I just bought my RX-8 (and can't stop smiling), but I noticed when I cleaned it, there are water spots on the windows and sunroof that didn't come out with Detailer's Pride Glass cleaner (which I bought because it was 'tint' safe). You only see the spots when the wipers are going or you wipe the sunroof, but I know they are there and shouldn't be!

Help?

I use Griot's glass cleaner, which claims to be optical-grade. It smells like isopropyl alcohol, leaves no streaks and does a great job. Good at getting the spots out too.

If the water is bad there like it is here in Vancouver, WA you could have the water spots etched into the glass.

My water here has a high chlorine content. If you leave it on the glass or paint after you wash it, it creates the water spots.

I recently purchased a glass polish that will remove slight etchings into the glass. You may want to look into it.

Safe for tinted windows?

Thanks for the tips......I will definitely look into both of them. The spots were on the windows when I received the car (didn't see them until the windshield and sunroof were wet), so who knows what region of the country or even what country they originated. One question, when using the products that remove window spots, do you know if they are safe for tinted windows too?

should be fine for tinted windows
but you have to keep tinted windows up for the first two days or so and dont clean them right away either
