White polish on black platic bodywork :(

Has anyone come up with a good way of getting excess polish off of the black plastic (mirrors and rear under bumper).

I had a minor skirmish with a bollard and the repairer thought I'd be happy if they polished the car for me ... nice thought :(

The white polish had stained my black plastic trim also, when some of my polish got on it.

i tried for the life of me to wipe it off, but in the end it was stained. The only thing that I did to reverse it was to stain it black, with black polish.. Worked.

There is some 3M stuff that they used to clean my car for the clear bra. It's removes all wax and grease. Try something like that. It works great! Then, buy some black trim polish and put that on b/c it will look white afterwards. Or, you could just put some armor all on it and see if that helps.

here's what Meguiar's tell me

I called them after their polish left lots of white stuff on the plastic

use a general purpose cleaner (he recommended Meguiar's EXTRA) and a brush to clean the white polish off. Haven't tried it yet though, and I was wondering what kind of brush? Maybe I can spend the next weekend with a toothbrush and my '8 ....

Found the right stuff - and it works like a dream ... Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer.

Application...

On stubborn/awkward textured areas - a soft bristle artist's brush is good, otherwise a chux style cloth.

Wipe of excess and keep from paint (obvious I know).

I already tried Meguiar's Natural Vinyl thingy, seemed to make the white diappear but the white stains reappeared in 1-2 days, maybe it'll work with a brush

Not the interior vinyl stuff, the one I'm talking about removes the stuff properly. I tried an interior cleaner on it and yes, it reappeared days later.

Try using a soft toothbrush for those hard to reach places :D (seriously)
