what should be used to clean the dash
just courious....with the plastic dash what should be used to clean and pamper that...would armoral be a good idea or would it makes things a litte to shiney and greasier than on usual dashes...let me know thanks

I actually use my Meguires leather cleaner. It seems to work good and doesn't leave the film on the dash that other products such as Armorall leaves.
|
for vinyl, use 303 aerospace protectant....from everything I've found, it has the highest UV protectant and the lease amount of shine/grease.
|
|
I use armour all and it does make it shiny, I like the shine. Also, a film rises into my windshield (houston weather) so i have to keep up with the windex twice as much.
|
I always use Swiffers. It takes all the dust off. As for a shiny look, that's not my bag. But I use windex to take off the stain marks when my girlfriend hits her school bag on my dash.

werd to the swiffer. I hate that greasy feel that armorall has.

What about Meguiars NXT stuff?

303......
I'm with the Saint on that...303 protectant.
Cleans well, protects 'like no other' then dissapears! Plus, it stays with the whole 'really expensive' theme for options! (just bought a gallon jug, cost $85!) . . . doc |
I use my houses central vaccume with a broom head hose and go over the dash and any other place where there might be dust or anything else accumulated in the car.

I agree with Doctorr and Saint. Protectant 303 is the way to go. It's not petrolium based like Armoral and others so it doesn't leave that greasy look. It also keeps the dash dust free for months.

Anyone had any experience with Mother's Back to Black? Heard of it...never used it. I haven't used anything on the dash so far. Currently I just use the California duster for cleaning the interior and it works great!
|
I clean the interior with a damp cloth with water, then I dry, then I use ammonia free window cleaner for the windows, any clear plastic... I also use leather cleaner for my leather and Black Magic for the vinyl...
|
2001 - I like shine.

I'm using the 303 as well. No shine, and works well even on the "paino black" parts. Plus it you get some on the windshield by accident it just wipes off (even days later) unlike armour all.
|
Aero 303 for me as well. The inside was never meant to shine or it would have come from the factory like that. It restores the inside to a perfect show room flat finish.

thanks for the info will try....ill email you guys if it doesnt work and ill send the bill ....j/k thanks

How about a damp cloth, folks? Keeps the original look, gets rid of the dash dust and saves money. Just an idea. :)
