Wax on rubber
Ok what's the old school for this?
I've tried rubbing alchole and no luck. I wonder in distilled vinager will work. Someone said use armor and buff like hell. It's gets most of it out. I know there are several coatings that will cover it like NXT, but what will really fix it? |
You can also try Color match Turtle wax (black)
Rub it on and let it dry, eventually it will take off all the wax |
i used to use a product called acid bath from Mark V, that would take it off. Just make sure you are very careful with it. Actually i think Mark V was bought out by someone. If you do plan on using a acid type of product make sure your car is cool and in the shade.
|
I just use NXT to cover it up if I get some on the plastic parts. Not sure exactly how to get RID of it though.
|
isopropyl alcohol. or try mother's back to black. it's a dye though so be careful.
|
I tried the alcohol as mentened in the first post.
I'm thinking of trying the distilled Vinegar. |
Try Turtle Wax Ice. You can use it on plastic and rubber and it works for me.
|
Ice will not remove wax residue currently on the rubber.
|
Try a pencil eraser as someone on here stated. It seems to work fairly well.
|
When the wax is dry a detail brush will get most of the white wax residue off black rubber and trim. You can also use the same detail brush over the area with some dish soap and water. The coin wash pressure wash will also help, just watch out for tim areas that are partially painted, like the rear bumper trim. Finally always apply rubber/plastic dressing on exterior trim with a small sponge or cloth before waxing; this will prevent wax from sticking to trim in the first place.

ahhh..... found an answer.
Need to try this. Microwave peanutbutter. The oils will lift out the wax. |
huh?!
I think I'll pass on that one... |
sounds weird yes, but peanut butter has been a proven answer to getting wax residue off. i don't eat peanut butter or have wax residue to try it on.
|
Someone here once told me to use the Mr Clean Magic Eraser for such things... I did, and it worked great!!
|
^^That thing is amazing!!
|
try using Dow bathroom cleaner,it works great on RWL tires too
