water spots
Hi, so i had my car covered in water spots due to stupid people who threw water, sand, and dirt all over my car. i cleaned off all of the sand and dirt but everywhere was water spots. I used vinegar and 90% of the water spots came out. What can i do about the other 10% of the water spots. Also when i run my had over the car, it feels a little rough. I had waxed my car using Meguiars NXT Tech wax. What should i do now? thanks for all the help

I had water spots that wouldn't come off with vinigar and a rough surface. I clay barred it first then used an orbital buffer to apply a fine polish safe for clear coats. After that the wax. The spots were gone and smooth as silk.

paint cleaner and polish should do the job unless it's etched in the clearcoat.

If the vinegar didn't take them off, then they are etched.
A buffer and compound are in order. You could probably get them out with a DA and light polish, but I've had them so badly etched that it took my rotary buffer, a foam pad and actual rubbing compound (3M Finesse It 3000) to get them out. |
Repetitive washing will eventually take them out- if you have the patience. We have very hard water here- full of minerals. Just washing your car in sunlight will usually guarantee lingering water spots if you don't dry it IMMEDIATELY.
A good wax or glaze product will help prevent them as well. The wax or glaze takes the abuse, not the paint. If you want them out immediately, be prepared to work at it, as outlined in the above posts. |
thanks for the advice guys

Try Klasse AIO. Wipe on wipe off.

The Zaino AIO is pretty good, too.
