Use of polymer QD on wax finshes
 

Does anyone use a polymer quick detailer over a waxed finsh. Like PS21. Pinnicle soug., Meg 24 or 16. MY question is will it remove the wax or just cover over or bond to the finish. I have a lot of QD for polymers, but just a couple bottles for wax like Mothers Showtime, Meg. QD. and NXT.... Thanks

Which brand you of QD for polymer you are refering? As for me I have been using Meguiars QD and NXT speed detailer without problems. Besides QD from any brand does not remove any wax since they are not clasified as cleaners.

NXT states it has polymers in it. Pinnicle is OK for wax. It states that on the bottle. I just get confused with all the types of stuff out there...Polymers, Waxes, Acrylics.......I think I should just forget about it and detail my car with the best known stuff out there...

Just to simplify things. Yes, the NXT QD has polymers just like the NXT wax. Right now most wax manufacturers and starting to offer products with polymers or syntetics because of their durability compared to traditional waxes. So, you should not worry about removing wax by using a QD. Since you have several brands try them out to see what best works for you. Again, QD purpose is to maintain the finish of your car in between washes as long as is not too dirty. Just spray on and wipe off ( no need to rub) with a clean towel to pick light dust.

By definition a both waxes and acrylics are polymers. The term polymer refers to molecules that contain monomers linked together. Poly = many mer = unit in latin.
