Turtle Wax 2001

I think it did a very nice job. Acrylic polish, very easy on, very easy off. removed a whole bunch of swirl marks and left me with a mirror polish!..

See here:

Check out the beautiful mirror finish with just one coat..

Also, see the crazy reflection on that polish:

Nice!!! How long did it take you? If it beats the application time of Zaino, I'm sold on the new turtle wax. (after all, been around forever)

Very nice finish Overload! Everytime I see one of these wax/polish threads I'm envious how everyone else's efforts seem to turn out so much better than my own!

It probably also doens't help out that my 8 is silver and doesn't seem to reflect the light as well.

looks great

Total time for wax job was about 40 minutes, and that's just the first of two recommended coats..

There wasn't really any polishing involved, just like the directions said, wipe on, wipe off (takes a nice lint-free detailing cloth, and medium-heavy wiping).

Also, the picture was taken about an hour before sunset, so lighting conditions were ideal for car pictures, ;)

But the car really is that shiny, I couldn't believe it... and a bottle for only $2.50 at K-Mart. Also, since it's a urethane polish, it won't come off as easy..

only 40 minutes
nice

I'm not a math whiz, but:

40 minutes + $2.50 w/turtle wax seems much better than 4+ hours with $90 Zaino if the results are similar.

How does it feel, and how is the beading effect?

Feel? you mean touch the paint??!!!?!?!?

rain? I drove my beater today because it rained... I havn't seen it bead up yet, but I'm sure it will just fine.. This is supposed to be a 2-coats last all year type polish..

I'm looking forward to getting coat # 2 on this weekend, and taking some more snaps!

I have been using this product for the past year since I purchased the car. Have about 8 coats on it right now total. I try to do at least 2 coats a season. This is overkill by the way since the bottle says the finish shoulld last you all year. The finish is great, I alway have the water beading off my car (because it's always waxed), also easy to put on an off. I just finished a coat today, and used my orbital buffer afterwards. Mirror smooth. My only complaint is that when I rest my terry cloth on the car as I wax, it keeps falling off due to the slick surface. This stuff is great. Highly recommend it.

Overload I am not sure but it is hard to put any wax on a black car and NOT have it look good. I am sure what you used is great, and thanks to your post I will get some (cheaper than mguires!!) , but I think the color of your car has more to do with how it looks then does the brand of wax.
I recently clayed, and waxed with Mguires gold clas, my v red 8. I simply washed my inlaws black 03 accord and towel dried it.
I was amazed at the deep beautiful mirror finnish of the accord, although I will admit your black 8 looks much deeper!
So I guess nevermind then, I just cancelled out my own post.

I wanted to add I am not knocking your wax, I was simply saying that a clean black car wax or not, looks damn fine!
I didnt go black though because they are alot of work to keep clean, as I am very anal about my car.
