tire shine
I know this may seem like a crazy idea, but what about putting black shoe polish on a tire (sidewall) and buffing it to a shine? Anyone think this would work?

Without wanting to sound like some of the Zaino-worshippers from other threads, Zaino Z7 (i think) Tyre Coating is damn good. Just makes the tyres look brand new again. Deep black finish, like new, without the glossy, greasy finish from most other tyre shines.

I'll 2nd the vote for Meguiars gel
It's very easy to apply, controllable, and looks good for several weeks. Additionally, when applied to black molding, it stays very well.
It also smells yummy :D |
thanks for the tips!!:D

Zaino or Zymol?
I've not found the Zaino stuff to be cost prohibitive. It's only about $15 for a bottle isn't it? I'm still on my first bottle of it a year after I bought it - and I use it on both my cars. I find it lasts at least 2-3 weeks before it needs reapplying. -andy- |

Shoe polish (like Kiwi) is made for sealing and shining leather, not really rubber or vinyl. I'd love to use Zaino, but you have to direct-order it. Can't get it at the nearest AP store like Meguiars.
