Stupid bird!

Totally pissed off.
At work there is a stupid bird that keeps hanging around on my roof and windshield and the worst part start to sh!t all over and peck on my paint. Don't know why that f@!ker is doing that. Also, it is not only me... sometimes it goes to other cars parked. So far I was stoking it for at leat 10 minutes tying to shoot it with a rubber band and a rolled up and bended piece of paper. I missed by few inches. After stocking it for another 5 minutes it decided to go away...DAnG stupid bird! I am not sure what kind of bird was... but sometimes you will see a bird chasing a crow defending its nest or something.
Anyways thanks for letting me vent..

You need one of those aftermarket force fields! It has an optional rocket launcher to take out those SLOW drivers in the fast lane that you can't get past. I'm saving up for one myself. :)

This thread would be better placed in the Lounge section.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your bird poop situation. If it bothers you that much, maybe invest in a car cover. Not sure what to do about the pecking deal, though. I've never seen a bird do that before.

Buy a 22 rifle with scope and take that fu$#er out.

staticlag 10-30-2004 01:08 PM

Just buy a cheap bb gun and shoot it.

Mugatu 10-30-2004 01:20 PM

get a paintball gun and light it up.

PoLaK 10-30-2004 06:06 PM

just install one of these.

thanks for your comments. Today I parked on a different spot. I will check it later for the bastard!

romulus 11-01-2004 02:16 PM

I did checked again and there is a good and a bad news. The good news is that my car is ok for now. The bad news is that the bird is now hanging around a coworkers car... Dang stupid bird!

At least you know the bird has no favoritism. There's always my 1000fps Norweigan pellet gun.

Aratinga 11-01-2004 03:42 PM

For all you folks recommending pellet/paintball/bb guns, remember that the bird is on the dude's CAR.... unless you're all sniper-trained and super-accurate, I wouldn't want any of you shooting at a target as small as a bird on something as big as MY car!!

It's probably got a nest near where you were parking, and it's seeing its reflection in the paint and/or glass. It's defending its territory against what it perceives to be another bird. Just park someplace else, and leave the bird alone.

Odd that this is happening this time of year, though. Usually it's springtime/nesting season when birds get really protective.

PoLak--Gosh what a great accessory!! I really enjoyed that.

Romulus--We had a male cardinal this Summer who took up an affection for the side mirrors on both my 8 and my wife's Miata. The cars were usually garaged, so it wasn't much of a problem--just perplexing why the stupid creature carried on that way.

I got to agree, I was also wondering the same. Anyways, no signs of the bird today. Thank God! My guess that it will be back one of these days, unless Darwin took care of it. Yeah, can't have crazy birds involved in the evolution of the specie. :D

That's species...specie means coins (collectively). Being a biologist, this is my favorite pet peeve!! This is the best I can do to add to an otherwise hilarious thread...
:D

Art,
Thanks for the correction. English is my third language. And because I was raised in South America, I was thinking in Spanish. Yep, you learn something new everyday. Do you know what kind of bird is? To describe it a bit more, is about 7 or 8" tall, long tail, gray to brown feathers and I think that the wings has a darker shade. During the spring time sometimes you will see a bird chasing crows to protect their nest. Any idea? Gosh! I am starting to sound like I am giving a description of a criminal to the police..hahaha.. :D

No problem!! I get third year biology students using the term incorrctly...

Without a pic or recording of the song, your description fits about 50% of the birds in S. California which (I am assuming) is where you are located. My best guess would be some kind of Phoebe or Junco...I'm resisting the urge to just call it a 'red-breasted California bed (RX-8?) thrasher'... :D

Regards, Art

romulus 11-04-2004 05:25 PM

Thanks for the info. Base on your hints, is more like a phoebe. I think this is the one. http://www.stevemetzphotography.com/photo%20pages/California/Say's%20Phoebe.htm
Anyways, no signs of the bird so far.. :) Yeah, maybe I can name it as Evil California Car Trasher :D
