Strange leather problem
 

My 8 has the light 'parchment' leather interior. Recently I had to carry a tire around in the back seat for a few days. Before putting it in the car, I wrapped it in a large plastic trash bag so the back seat wouldn't get dirty. Well now there's a faint "impression" of the tire tread on the seatback! You have to really look to see it, but it's definitely there. It doesn't seem to be an actual impression—I mean, when you run your fingers over it, it's smooth. Which suggests that somehow the tire magically "transferred" itself through the plastic bag and onto the seatback. Weird.

What happened, exactly? And how do I get rid of it? (I've tried both Lexol and Zaino leather cleaners without any luck.)

Your leather got creased... you cant really do anything about it. try putting a hot damp towel over a small area thats has leather conditioner on it (lexol will work). that Will soften it up and hopefully smooth it out a bit.

I spent some time working the leather today—I honestly don't think it's creased. To the touch—and visually—it feels and looks absolutely smooth. I think some of the "black" of the tire somehow transferred itself to the seatback—how it managed to do that through a plastic bag is beyond me.

Anyone have any other thoughts? Could an upholstery shop solve this? I don't even want to think about how much it would cost to get a new seatback.

check around your area for dry cleaners and find out if they can do anything for the faint impressions on your leather or go to a local leather shop if you have one in your area. :)

you also might want to try a taxidermy shop also !!!!!
