Steam cleaning?

I was thinking about those steam cleaning machines you see advertised for household cleaning (shower doors, tile, bathroom sinks, etc.) I don't own one but was thinking about the possibility of using a steam cleaner to wash my 8 without having to mess with soap. Would this be too hot and damage the paint or clearcoat? I figured it would be especially good to clean the wheels. Any thoughts?

It would strip all the wax off everytime you used it. You would have to re-wax constantly. That seems like way too much work. Just use cold water and some elbow grease.

Don't do it! The chang in temps and saturation of moisture in the paint is not good.

I kind of figured it was not a good idea, otherwise I'd have heard of more people already doing it. I guess I'll do it the old fashioned way. I'll probably buy that Mr. Clean system. People seem to like that a lot and say it works really well.

^^ Mr. Clean Autodry works really well. Friend uses it on his accord and whenever it rains his is dry in 10 minutes while everyone elses cars are wet.

lol, wow, Mr clean now works on drying your car after it rains, lol. Must be that molecular blend they use that heats the car up to dry the rain off for months after you put it on. They should put this on a commercial, or AFV!!

Yup, the Mr. Clean system is a real time saver and does a great job. Combined with Turtle Wax Ice, it's the only way I go now.
