Shroud melted on exhaust tip
I have the agency power TI tipped exhaust. At one of my drift events I hit a cone with my back tire which broke my drivers side shroud letting it rest on the tip for the next couple runs I did until I noticed. It melted the shroud literally in half. I have new shrouds now but I still have all that melted plastic on my exhaust. What would be a good product to get that off without damaging my tip? I tried some pretty potent tar remover and it got the bulk of it off. I try a brass brush but it started scratching kind of bad. Should I heat it up with a torch and melt it off? :dunno:

I had the same thing happen before. I didnt use any products. Go for a drive... melt the plastic and use a flat head screw driver carefully to remove the pieces before it dries. Worked for me.

if you get to the point that you have to use something metal try a brillo pad before a wire brush

I'll try the driving around and try to pick it off first then a brillo pad. I just used a brush because thats what I had laying around. I used it on a non visible part of the tip and its started scratchin.

I used Bar Keepers Friend on my exhaust tips, but I dont have any tinting. Works great at bringing back the shine, but it does take off material.

I hadthis problem before too. What I ended up doing was leavingthe plastic on and after a few cycles of melting and rehardening the bulk of it popped off after it had rehardened. I then used a bunk of different sprays and shop rags to get 99% of the stuff off. If your tips are scratched hit them up with some Borla exhaust polish.
