What is the best thing to remove, cover, or blend in scrathes. What should i buy. It is not to deep of a scrath maybe just on the clear coat. What happened was a piece of my garage door fell on it due to a prior garage door incident with a van which wrecked the garage door. please help.

Dont know.. need pics. if you run your nail on it and the scratch catches the nail. youre most likely screwed.

I had about 4 long scratches on the front left fender... not sure how I got them, must have scruffed something when making a turn.

What I did was get 2000 grit wet-sandpaper... kept dousing the affected area with a mixture of soap and water and lightly sanded only on the lines of the scratches... eventually my nail couldn't catch on the lines any longer although the paint was all "fuzzy" from the sandpaper.

I then used Macquires "FINE CUT" polish which is a chemical fine abrasive polish on the area to eliminate the cloudiness, and coverd with a good glaze and then wax and voila... couldn't see anything. A friend of mine in the industry was amazed since he told me orignaly I would more than likely need to blend in with some paint.

Be very careful with the 2000 grit, it's recomended you use 3,000 which is guaranteed not to damage the clear coat.... I overdid it on another spot with a deep paint chip with the 2,000 and the fine cut polish didn't totally eliminate the cloudiness...
