Rainx reapplicationand Wax product??
 

I just applied Rainx to my windows and I'm amazed how well it works! When I'm driving over 65 mph the water just rolls right off as if I was using the wipers! How often does rainx need to be reapplied? I also noticed that rainx also makes a quick shine/wax. Do you guys know if this works well as wax and does it have some of the same properties so that water beads up and rolls off the body??

Yeah Rain-X kicks ass bigtime. It has usually lasted 1-2 months in my experience. Just reapply when you notice it's not working as well.

noooooooooo....do not use this stuff on the paint...can't you smell the alcohol in the stuff? Smells like vodka....bad juju for your paint...RainX wears off fast, doesnt do much to protect your paint.

yeah, don't use on paint. That's why they want you to spray the rain-x on a cloth instead of your windshield...., so you don't end up acidentally spraying your paint!

It does work well on the side mirrors. If you have a problem with fog inside (I do) they have a version for interior use.

Guys, I think he's not talking about actual Rain X, but the Rain X wax that can be applied to the body.

Haha--I actually thought the same thing Batmobile and Labop were thinking at first. Had to read his post a second time to see that he was talking about the wax.

BTW, RX8rider, I doubt the RainX wax will have any different qualities from most other waxes. Waxes generally will create a rain-x-like effect on the paint because they make the paint surface slick. Nothing out of the ordinary. I personally don't know anything about the particular wax. Someone on Autopia, though, called it a cleaner wax and said he uses it on his rims.

Be careful with this. We had it on our front windshield in a heavy rainstorm and I asked my friend (who was driving) to slow down a little since I thought it was raining harder than it looked. We did, but other cars did not. We got passed by another sports car and just as he got past our front driver's side bumper he started spinning. I think he did about 5 or 6 360s in front, beside, and behind us before sliding off the road backward and down into a deep ditch in the center median of the highway. Luckily he missed the bobwire fence (only millimeters from his passenger door) and all of the trees. We stopped to get him and take him to a gas station to call a tow truck and when we asked him what happened he said..."I had no idea that it was raining as hard as it was since I had Rainx on the windshield and did not have to use my wipers." Funniest part about that trip was getting back on the highway and seeing EVERY single car that had passed us in a ditch on the side of the road (maybe they were all using Rainx on their windshields?).

That's a don't drive fast in the rain story not a don't use Rain X story.

Like they said, it will be comparable to any other wax. I've given up thinking that any brand is better than any other. I think it all depends on how much time you're willing to use. What's the price? I haven't seen it in the stores yet.
