Question About Bugs

Hey I have a friend who use to detail cars and he said to get bugs off the cars they would use Mean Green . Has anyone tried this? I trust him cause Ive seen his work but has anyone here tried it? Just dont wanna screw up my paint..

Right now I'm just cleaning snow and ice of my car. I'm dreaming of weather where bugs would be a problem!

I beleive that it would take the wax off also. If you do it, just wax the area again. Just a good soaking with water usually takes them off

I can say this: Don't leave dead bugs on too long or the residue will etch the clearcoat.

^ +1, acidic.

I've never heard of mean green. When i detail cars with bugs on it, they usually just wash off when i wash the car with Gold Class, 2 buckets and a sheepskin mitt. If there's any remaining "residue", the claybar and polish will take care of it.

Do not let them sit one the car for long.....especially love bugs. Many moons ago while working at a gas station while going to school, we used a small amount of ammonia in the water to help. I would still recommend that you wax immediately as well.

i think they might have meant "simple green". its very cleaner and bio-degradeable. and it smells really good. mainly used in shops. its a good commercial product.

or if u really hate to get bugs around ur car in the first place, use K9 advantix.
