It's been a cloudy day today and I was due for a wash (hadn't washed in like...almost two weeks. TWO WEEKS!). I don't get any shade in my driveway during the day...only until about sunset, so this really complicates things.

But first I needed to clean pretty much the entire interior...vaccuum all the grass that gets stuck on the floor carpet, leather clean everything, wipe the rubbers.

Then it's about 5, and I notice the clouds starting to drift away. Oh crap!

I get the hose out, wash my car (soap all over with wash mitt, then rinse)

Then I drive around the block to quickly get as much water off as possible, and warm the engine a little. Park, get the towels out and go into turbo-dry mode. By the time I'm done, the sun comes out. KAYTHANKZ. Car looks as good as always.

Just had to declare my victory :mdrmed:

Now, I must mow the damn lawn. :

fyi you basically rubbed dirt all over your car again. why? you drove around catching dust, dirt, etc etc and wiped it on your paint with a towel. pwned indeed lol.

I only drove around the block, for like 30 seconds, so I don't have to waste 20 minutes drying the car instead of like 5. I do it all the time, that's hardly catching dirt.

i drive my car into the garage to wipe it down because it gets dirty just being outside. lol

i dry first then do a quick drive so that any water left will fall out and so that the orange rust on the brakes comes off (black rims=brake dust/rust is really noticeable). then i wash the wheels.

I sheet the car off using the hose parallel to the paint win no nozle then their hardly any water to dry.

I use a squeegee.. it works great on our soft clear-coat.

i dont trust those...they scratched the paint on my old sentra.. =(

Raptor2k, I use the Mr. Clean auto dry. Works great. You should get it.

MR. Clean's auto dry works really well on mildy dirty cars. i like to use Polak's way. theres a setting on one of my hose thats called "sheet" and it works great if you angle at from the top of the car to the bottem.

I use this, and it works fantastic for getting the large masses of water off

What's a 'sheet' of water look like? A wave of some sort?

its like an even flat stream of water at a low pressure. once it hits the car it glides down evenly picking up the water that was already on the car before the sheeting... it just flows with gravity down south.

I guess I need a new nozzle, mine just sprays

i just take off the nozzle and let it flow.

I use an electric leaf blower.
The car is completely dry in 5 minutes and it gets all the water that would otherwise come out later from under the tailights, headlights, mirrors, window seals and side vents.

it works great... the people next door looked at me like i was a tard the first time, but now it is the norm...

Not a one, which is an accomplisment for a car that is driven 300+ miles a week in the desert - where even the mighty Zaino evaporates in a single day.
