Problem with black paint

Hey guys! I don't really know how to explain the problem i'm having on my is300(my other car) so I can't research what to look for. well.... here is my problem, my is300 is black and the paint on it looks really spotty and there is like a purplish residue that wont come off. I've never had oil on it or anything. The water spots are terrible as well. I've been paying soo much attention to my RX-8, that i've neglected my Lexus, and I want to bring back the color like it used to be. Is there any advise that you guys can give me to make the color "Pop" again?

Thanks!

Those are the common problems with black paint... It might work well for those paint residues.

seriously claybar, dont press too hard, but give it breast caressing pressure.

You can strip the paint if you press too hard.

keep going back and forth until you dont feel resistance in the clay, and keep checking to see if the clay is getting dirty, if so then knead it some more. MAKE SURE you wash your car and dry it completely, also make sure to wash your hands before. even if it is clean the claybar will pick up 99% of any dirtyness on your hands and further make your clay less useful.

you can try using a polish after the claybar with a portercable rotary buffer.
you should use a carnuba cleaner wax as well after the polish
then finish off with a harder wax to seal it more.

if this doesnt give the results your after, try bringing it to a detailer. dont expect to be done with this in a couple hours, when i wash+dry+polish+buff+wax+buff+wax+buff it usually takes me around 4hours, but im ridiculous, i work super slow. Add another hour just for claybar'ing. Dont work fast, go very slow and make sure you are working patch by patch.

For a truely mirror like reflective shine on black paint
The best thing out there for automotive acrylic paint is VaporWax APC acrylic paint conditioner. If the paint is oxidized Pittman ALR*C will clear it up fast.
Try that before you put any abrasives on your car. I guarantee you, unless you have paint damage, you won't need anything else.
The whole operation can be completed within a hour after you prep the car with a wash in hot water and dishwashing liquid.
