Need help :(
i just bought some TEIN basic damper for my rx8 ...me and my friend tried installing it but we couldn't even take the OEM springs out ....i went to the shop to ask and they say they will charge me $400 to install the whole thing ...
can anyone help me ? any instruction will be GREATLY appreciated ... |
$400 is about normal for instal for them. unless you really know how to do work on suspension. i suggest going back to the shop and they will do it right
|
Really ? :( ...shit ...im broke ...
i have no experience in replacing the suspension but i would want to change it myself ...if i have the instruction book >.< |
where are you located
400 is too much for just changing damper i paid 300 to switch OEM to TEIN FLEX with wiring the EDFC btw, i am in los angeles CA |
See if anyone in your area can help you. Regional section...
|
Im located at cupertino , CA ....the shop i found that will do it for me is located at Milpitas , CA ...kinda 30-40 min drive from here ....couldnt find anyshop near here :(
|
1) why is this in the show and shine section? :scratchhe
2) $400 is about right for the damper install. This isn't a very hard install, just can be time consuming if it's the first time you're doing it. I would recommend checking out the D.I.Y. subforum, I'm pretty sure there's instructions there on a few different suspension installs. Hopefully those can help you out. |

im still kinda new to this forum ...forgive me for posting it at the wrong spot ...
yes im new to this ...i tried checking out the DIY section ...but there isnt any clear instruction on how to do it ... damn i suck at fixing my own car .... |
There is a good DIY by Robin Yang. That is what I used to change my springs. He has good illustrations to make it dummy proof. If you google his name, you can find his website. His DIY made it so much easier for me. Or you can search under springs installed. There's a link to his website.

|
no ... i think the back is too stiff ....my tail is bouncing up and down like crazy when i drive on the highway ..especially when there is a dip , the car just BOUNCE !
|
damn thats not right then. the stiffer springs should have gone up front. the only other thing i would say is to check and make sure that everything is tight and torqued down. did you buy the kit used or new?
|
a new one ...and i it came in the box ...i nvr switch any spirings ....the rear for the rear and the front for the front
|
do you remember "Tein" is imprinted on the springs or is it a sticker?
|
i think it was white words printed on it ...
