Need dependable water gun

Long shot here and seems like a stupid topic but maybe others are frustrated as well??

Anyone with a dependable water gun they use to wash their car? I replace mine every year because no matter the brand they seem to break. I would like one that can swivel at the base as well.

Why...do you use a water gun to wash your car?

I think he may be referring to a spray nozzle for a hose (?)

imop45 05-23-2010 11:29 PM

yeah spray nozzle, not water gun.. Same here, never had one work worth a damn. So now I buy a bunch of cheap ones at dollar general.

I used to take them into the shop and try to make them better, but just easy to wait for a sale and stock up..

pdxhak 05-23-2010 11:52 PM

LOL that is what I'm referring to. We called them water guns. Obviously not squirt guns. I guess they are also called spray guns or spray nozzles.

I got tired of the cheap ones tearing up and bought the best one Lowe's had to offer. It lasted about as long as the cheap ones.

to get a good match you have to have a good hose and nozzle. hoses over here in BE dont screw, that are quick connect. they dont leak either :P

I am thinking about swapping out to a quick connect system. But still need a gun that will not break and that can swivel.

+1 On Griots garage. That nozel is amazing.

here's what I use from Home depot

7 pattern Water Nozzle. I simply keep it on 'shower' and it sprays nice and even. They last quite a bit and even when they don't, they're only $7.
Dropped it dozens of times, doesn't break.

Jedi that is the nozzle I have now. It is probably lasted a year before having issues with leaking and coming apart.

Huey52 $90 for a nozzle

Jedi54 05-26-2010 01:05 PM

I'd rather buy 12 of the Home Depot nozzles then one $90 item.
Huey, you're a baller.

^ LOL I just figured if the OP really wanted an ultra-dependable one that would last a lifetime, it would certainly amortize nicely over time. So few things are really made to last any more. :(

pdxhak 05-31-2010 11:18 AM

You know the "OP" is such a tard that he would spend $90 for a water nozzle  Or not...

I don't know what you mean "swivel at the base", but you've seen the one that I use. I've had so many over the years, and I can say that this one is the best one I've had for washing the car. Had it for over a year, it won't break or leak. NAPA has it for about 5 bucks.

It's something like this....

pdxhak 05-31-2010 11:36 AM

It means it can rotate at the base 360˚ which is very helpful when the hose gets all twisted. I will show you if/when you pick up the TB at my house.

BG-8 05-31-2010 11:41 AM

well, let me know when you come back... I'll stop by...

Easy_E1 05-31-2010 11:42 AM

The old standard. You ain't gonna break this one.

I just may try that. I have a swivel that I can screw onto the hose and then the nozzle on to it. But having a gun with multiple options is nice.

Multiple spray patterns are a nice option. You can adjust spray pattern with this.
This will probably out last the RX8. Plus you can pass it down to your grand kids.

It was a crazy week, Lakers were playing and it was a tough series... so I was focus on that ;)

by the way that nozzle that I showed you has multiple options on it.
