Yes, this looks great... don't get me wrong. But why not take before and after pics so we can see the difference in shine quality. I use the Meguires clay bar kit on my Gen 3 which sells for $15 at almost any autoparts store. The shine quality when I finish applying this product is SO incredible I can't imagine it possibly being any better.

I have friends of mine who've installed Zaino and I think it's a great product. How long did it take you to apply from start to finish? Just curious?

Nothing makes silver look better than Zaino - Nothing!
Both cars have 10 coats of Zaino and they look better than the day we got them.

Bet Ya!

epitrochoid 02-02-2004 12:42 PM

10 coats? jesus!

success07 02-03-2004 09:03 AM

10 coats of Zaino and the wheel wells are still dirty? Please tell me you wipe down the doorjams also. It's all in the details especially if you're going to throw 10 coats of polish on your ride! :D

Sea Ray 02-03-2004 09:26 AM

I have to admit I am a detail O'Holic.

I not only wipe down the door jams and hinges, but the trunk 'jam', gas cap 'jam', and the hood 'jam', as well as all covers and painted areas under the hood. :)

success07 02-03-2004 09:34 AM

That's why we get along Sea Ray! :D

Is this thread not exactly like another thread a few paces down this forum.

PHA RX-8 02-04-2004 03:10 PM

Question. How do the "detail O'Holics" clean the wheel wells?

success07 02-04-2004 03:58 PM

PHA RX-8 - The same rag that I use to wipe the wheels, exhaust, and exhaust finishers (and only those pieces) wipes down the wheel wells. They are the last thing I do because the rag as had it by then and you definitely don't want to use it on anything else after that. The rag is nice and damp at that point and it makes it really easy to wipe down that black plastic or the exhaust grime on the tips of your exhaust.

Once you stay on top of it (and it doesn't add that much more time to your cleaning), it's not bad to keep them clean at all. Same goes for the door and trunk jams. If you let them go it's sometimes alot more difficult to get them clean. I have been very meticulous all my life with the cleaning of my automobiles and have picked up alot of neat tricks along the way. I said it earlier and I got this from a detailer friend of mine but, "It's all in the details." Nothing drives me more crazy than to see a clean car with dirt and grime in the door jams or a spotless car with tires that are a dull black because the owner doesn't take a minute to wipe the tire down with a wet cloth or spray some sort of tire shine on them.

To each there own but it only takes a extra minute to make your ride look it's best. You wouldn't leave the house with a suit and tie on without washing your balls and brushing your teeth first would you? :D It's all in the details. :D

PHA RX-8 02-04-2004 04:24 PM

success07- I was just asking bacause it bothers me also to clean my car and then have the wheel wells not representing. I was looking more for tricks to keeping this area not only clean but looking black like the wheels. Any help?

success07 02-04-2004 04:33 PM

Ooooh, I see!! I really don't use any products persay but the "trick" if you will is that the over spray from the tires gets onto the wheel wells and that mixed with a little water from your damp cloth should shine it up just fine. That's what I do and it turns out great everytime. :)

When I took the picture I had not JUST detailed it, in fact I probably had a couple of hundred miles on it since the last time it had been washed. I just wanted to show the depth that Zaino gives Silver. For the record the wheel wells are kept pretty clean and yes I not only wipe down the door sills, but Zaino the painted areas as well.

Just the other day I rotated my tires and cleaned the back side of the wheels, while the tires were off, I 'detailed' the wheel wells, here is a picture to show what I am talking about, notice the part I detailed vs the part I had not -

success07 02-04-2004 10:25 PM

Now that's what I'm talking about! :D Nice work 6speed8!!!

Thanks! Last time I took my car into the dealer for an oil change it had just started to rain, and the roads had not gotten wet, but by the time my car got pulled in it was pouring out. I asked the mechanic how it looked underneath - he laughed and said "Are you kidding? look at the body, its so clean, how do you keep it so clean in this rain?" - lol

Speed-ER doc 02-12-2004 10:33 AM

Wow, now THAT"S detailing. Nice work.

XeRo 02-12-2004 10:53 AM

I did that when I had my wheels off for painting the calipers...works out great..i used 303 Aerospace Protectant...the wells are still shiny black even with all the nasty wet weather we've had down here....just takes a little rub down with a damp cloth and voila! ...Looks great 6speed8!

MadMacz 02-18-2004 05:20 PM

Nice job on the wells! How long do you figure the treatment lasts (as long as the tires?)

6speed8 02-26-2004 05:17 PM

I put my 10th coat of Zaino on late November/early December. Today Feb 26th I took My car and just washed it (at a local do-it-yourself car wash). I took the following pictures there. Almost three months since Zaino-ing (ooh is that a word):
