Meguiars 3 Step Process???

I have seen several posts referring to Meguiars 3 step process, but cannot seem to find out what the 3 steps entail. I assume step 1 is using the Meguiars Wash, Step 2 wax, can't figure out step 3. Can anyone offer some help:confused:

step 1. cleaner wax

step 2. polish

step 3 finishing wax.

there are two versions consumer or "emerald" and then the professional version. merals is labele d step1, 2, 3
while professional is cleaner #6, polish/glaze #7 and either the Gold class wax or high yellow #26.

That's what I've been using (professional version) and it seems to work really well...

meguiars has the best stuff IMO.
I just got their leather wipes and they are awesome

It seems to work great, I did mine 1 month ago now and the car is STILL shiny and smooth, and doesn't seem to get dirty!

I have used meguiars for years on my MR2 with great results. What is it about zaino that is so good (or better). Im looking for the best protection and shine for my silver 8

It is a pain to put on the first time, but the shine is first rate, and will last for several months . The paint is so smooth it feels almost frictionless.

I never heard of zaino til I came to this forum but everyone has been happy with it

stownz 09-17-2003 02:02 AM

Is it Zaino or Zymol?

klegg 09-17-2003 08:18 AM

two diffrent products by diffrent companys.

zaino done right is a multi step process

2 diffrent washes, claybar, prespray, wax x 3 or so.

I use Meguiars (showcar glaze and yellow wax) on all of my cars.

Not as time consuming as Zaino and you get decent result.

Be careful with the 3 steps! The first two steps are abrasives that scrape a little paint off. They work great on my red oxidized del Sol but I wouldn't use it on a new car. Use clay.

Yes, do not use an abrasive unless you have to. The 'problem' with waxes are as follows:

1. Waxes yellow over time
2. Waxes do not handle heat (sun, engine etc...)
3. Waxes leave nasty residue
4. Waxes harden and can leave streaks

None of the above applies to Zaino.
