I wash my car today!

I don't think I've ever been this prepared or this excited about washing a car. I got my Zaino products, my towels, my washing mitt and brushes, my wheel and window cleaners, and my 303. I live in an apartment that doesn't allow car washing in the parking lot, but I noticed the building has some faucets on the outside next to the street. I don't know if that's just a technicality and I'll still be considered breaking the rules. But the leasing office is closed today, so I'm going to try it. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Great, but did you get some clay?

Whew! Oh my god, am I tired. Wheels, Dawn, dry, clay bar, Z-7, dry, Z-2, Z-6, Z-2, Z-6. It took 6 hours, but it looks great! I wish I had a digital camera to show you guys. There's a farmer's market about half a block from where I was washing my car, and people walking by could not stop commenting on my car. :)

Oh my god, clay bar! Clay gets the car smooooth. You'd be amazed to see all the little things it picks up off the paint. My hand keeps slipping off the trunk when I try to shut it because the car is so damn smooth now.

This detailing thing is addictive. Sonus wheel cleaner works great by the way.

Question 1: I picked up some 303 High Tech Fabric Guard on recommendation from Autopia. I was going to use it today, but I thought I'd ask you guys first. Anyone have experience with this product? Should I do it?

Question 2: Am I allowed to use that clay bar again? Or should I throw it away?

Question 3: How do you guys clean the front grill? That thing has about a billion little holes, and I didn't have a good tool for reaching into each hole and cleaning it.

Ed, I've heard that you can use a clay bar up to 6 times before you have to throw it away. I just bought clay last week and haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I imagine you'd just have to reshape it to find a clean side.

For the grill, I haven't had to get into the nooks and crannies of it yet, but you might use an old toothbrush (which is what I use for the side vents, coincidentally).

Besides the interior, Aerospace 303 works great on wheels too. It repels dust which is great for the interior, but it isn't super shiny, and doesn't fly off and dirty your wheels when you drive.

I imagine a bottle brush would work for you.

Sorry to break the news to ya pal, but you have a serious illness.
It is not normal to spend 6 hours on your car. You need help.
Seriously, you do.
I know this because............I have the same problem and am happy with my life and if I want to spend all day, washing, waxing, claying, polishing, shining then damn it I will.
Nothing else matters!

Must be tough for you Canada 8'ers! I used to have a winter before I moved down here. My other cars were neglected in the winter.
