How do i make the engine bay look nice and clean

like i see these pictures of everyones engine bay and they look so nice and clean, how do i get it to look like that, like just a clean look, I have no clue about engines so i dont want to spray something with water that could hurt the engine, I'll take pictures of it tomorrow and post them on here, and you guys can tell me if anything looks out of place, any suggestions though, like I saw a thread on it earlier but I dont know what would actually hurt the engine or not

they sell this orange can of engine cleaner stuff. its like a foam that just absorbs oil and then all you do is rinse it off. a couple of times w/ that and you engine ell look nice. i usually just get a rag and wet it a lil and clean it. a air compressor w/ a blower helps get leaves and dirt you cant reach.

if you gana spray you engine w/ a water hose or something like that, cover all electrical components and filters. other than that, you should be good

It's best to keep it clean after you clean it, Like once every 5k...

I only goto Coin-ops, and spray it when it gets a little dirty, keep that up and you won't even have to use those cleaners.

If you do decide to spray it off, be sure to stand back from the car a bit. You don't want water getting where it isn't suppose to.

Depends on the condition of your engine bay and how clean you want it to be. Take a pic and post it. The best method for out engine bay, especially since we have all of the surrounding padding is to clean it all by hand a section at a time. Hosing down your engine is not recomended and think about it. Your not going to get way down in areas were puddles of water can form and cause more damage. Anyway, in my 25 years of detailing I've always done it that way.

Same here, by hand. Days long gone by you could water or steam spray, but just too many electronics these days to take a chance on puddling that you don't see.
