Help with car covers and a radar??
I want to buy a car cover but I have no idea what to buy? So any brands etc will help. Also how is the factory one??

What color is your car? I have a gray/black OEM car cover that I have never used. It's still in the bag and I'll sell it if you can use that color? I have the same cover that Mazurfer has, but I do use mine occassionally. Just make sure you have at least a couple of feet all around the car to get it tucked into place. Can be a chore in a garage if space is tight.
But, it does keep the dust off the car. I also bought the Mazda OEM cable and lock, which is nothing special, just a tiny padlock and a steel cable. That can be interesting to use with the cover outdoors, if the ground is wet or muddy. Some folks have said that covers can scratch your paint, but I've found that if you keep the liner clean, and only install it on a clean, dust-free car, it's not an issue. |

Looking at covercraft's website, I'm starting to like the Noah cover.
NOAH barrier fabric actually stops water, yet it "breathes" to allow any trapped moisture, seam seepage or condensation to easily evaporate. The unique construction process (patent pending) results in a cover with maximum all-weather protection...highly water resistant, dust resistant, UV resistant and breathable to make sure moisture and/or heat don't stay under the cover. Made in the U.S. by Kimberly-Clark, the fabric weighs only 4.75 oz./sq. yd., so it's easy to handle and fold. Protective Outer Layers - A bi-component spunbond, using sheath-core technology. Wonder if people made up their mind about their car covers? I have an outdoor car cover from Covercraft, Noah series ($220+), and I have been using it for almost 6 months (no garage...:rant:). I pretty much use it every day, and it works great for me. However, it gets very heavy if I'm taking it off after a rainy day since it is more fabric based. This is a bummer because it has been raining non stop in Santa Barbara for the past couple days, and I don't want to use the car cover but have no where to store it except ON the car... :icon_no2: I haven't notcied any scratches. I swear by my top of the line California Car Cover. Two Winters outdoors and it works great. "Superweave" Breathable microfiber. Not as tight fitting as the OEM, so it goes on and off easier. Machine wash/dryable. Stores easily in its own bag as well.

I have 3 car covers now!
- Mazda OEM car cover: Works AWESOME if for whatever reason I need to leave my car outside at night. Unfortunately it's a VERY tight fit but does a good job of keeping most of the moisture out. - Covercraft Noah: This is my daily car cover for when I'm at the office. I can imagine it would get heavy after it rains since it is a fabric material. I would suggest not putting it on when it is raining since it won't really keep your car clean. As soon as you take the cover off and start driving, you're just going to kick up muddy water all over your car. - Costco Universal cover: used it for a few weeks, no longer using it. It's a decent cover but you're better off spending the extra $$$ for something better. |

I have an RX8 specific noah cover I bought about 2 years ago. Used it maybe 3 times. It's a higher end one that's suppose to be good in the rain, etc. Paid a couple hundred bucks and barely use it. Too lazy I guess. PM me if you would like to buy it.
