Fresh Paint - how long to wait before waxing/sealing?
I am getting the trunk lid on my 8 repainted because of some severe paint defects. How long should I wait before waxing/sealing it? Any other advice on dealing with a newly painted panel? Thanks.

30 days at minimum. I got that answer direct from one of the painters i know. If you must wax it, use a non-sealing polish, but he says thats not even recommended but would work.

If you talk to Sal Zaino he will state that you only need to wait maybe 7 days using his products. If you use something other than Zaino, make sure it is has NO silcone in it, as that will make the paint come right back off. In the old days you had to let paint breath and all that fun stuff, now adays you just have to let it harden up, then you can seal it.
