Complete Newb wants to Detail Car.. HELP!
 

I have a question.. I am actually a complete and total newb when it comes to washing cars I just have never done or seen it I always take it somewhere and pay, I want to do it myself now that I have more time on my hands and want to make it really nice... I was thinking the Zaino Kit as alot of people here swear by it and it looks really nice... Do you guys know of any references online that i can use to show me how to do each process because i am really clueless... An example of what I am looking for:

Step One: Claybar (Description) (Picture)
Step Two: (Wash)
Step Three: Buff (Description) (Picture)
Step Four: Wax (Description) (picture)

Etc....

Here's what I can tell you.

If you are gonna go with Zaino, make sure you use the right towels. This is imperative! No point in buying that great product and scratching up your car in the process.

Every time you touch the paint, it will scratch. Remember that.
For that reason, I use Mr. Clean Auto Dry. It prevents me from having to dry the car a whole lot. (I let most of it dry on its own and I dry parts of it with a micro fiber towel)

Speaking of micro fiber towels, these are pretty good. Fiber Works - RX-8 Club Special

Make sure you wash you car thoroughly before you use the clay bar. If there is dirt on the surface the clay bar will scratch your car. You will be amazed at how well clay works but make sure you get the surface as clean as you can first.

I personally have not used Zaino, but I hear it works well. If you aren't willing to spend as much money on Zaino and still get great results, you can try Turbo Wax. As for references, take a look at autopia.org... they have instructions on many detailing tasks.

I ordered the $84 Zaino package on Friday... Should be in on the 13th/Tuesday. Will Zaino the car next weekend and will upload some before and after pictures!
