Clay Bars
Does anyone know any stores that sell just clay bars instead of the entire kit, i already have detailer and dont need to buy it again.
|
autozone, pepboys, amazon.com, kragen, target, walmart, i've even seen them at wallgreens
|
just buy it. you could kill a half a bottle of detailer claying
|
I get my stuff from autozone.
|
water > detailer
|
I disagree. Detailing spray is better, unless you have extemely 'soft' water (low mineral count; which we don't around here). Use it liberally when clay barring.

detailing spray is always better ;)....if you guys are using meguiars quik detailer, try using megs Ultimate quick detailer after, makes the car feel even smoother ;)
|
I like Griot's Garage detailing spray myself, but Meguiars products are excellent, and more readily available. I use detailing spray almost daily after my commute/weekend country drive. :)

ICE Claybar, silky smooth.
Its the high-end line from Turtle Wax. |
Or you could use car soap.

meguiars also has theyre own clay bars that they sell, comes in a little car with a fat ass bar inside....they have different kinds, i say go with the "milder" one if your paint isnt really bad
|

I *love* 3M's interior detailer. It's simply the best there is.

Well worth the wait IMHO You can get clay bars anywhere. I know I've seen them at WalMart sold by themselves. |
soap bar!!!!!!
:worship: Zaino Bar is the best! |
Would it be okay if i did only one door with a clay bar? it seems to be my passenger door of my 8 .. its rough .. although it looks decent as does the rest of my car
|
you might as well just do the whole car...it doesnt hurt to clay it often...i went to super autobacs and got the really BIG bar from meguiars and i try to do my car at least once a month
|
As you would expect, I tend to clay & polish the front end far more often then the rest of the vehicle, as it suffers 'the slings and arrows .....'
Run your hand over the finish after washing and you'll readily know what still needs clay barring.

WoW .. !! The Clay bar kit from Meguiars really does work! lol.. yes i did the whole car exept the front bumper because it is dark already...
I must say though that all the small black dots have dispeared completely and my paint is glass smoooth!!! :):) One more question.. Would i be able to use that clay bar on my wheels ? .. 3 out of 4 of my wheels have the same black dots (not that obvious but visible) as my paint coat... |
^yeah, you didnt use the WHOLE clay bar right?
