Cheap Vodka makes great GLASS cleaner.

I use Taaka Vodka because it is so inexpensive. You can get 1.75 litres for as little as $12.

Put it in a spray bottle and use as you would any other glass cleaner. I have yet find anything that has worked as well.

Words of caution:

1. Vodka is flammable. Should be obvious but just keep that in mind.
2. Some clear plastics are sensitive to ethanol the key ingredient in Vodka. This may include tint film as well (try on an small spot and check for hazing before doing a large area)

I have tried my own solutions of denatured alcohol (ethanol with additives) and distilled water but they haven't worked as well as just simple vodka. Vodka has been propossed in the passed but I had never tried it thinking denatured alochol and water mixed was just as good. I also tried some mixtures of vodka with a little bit of windex and ultra tiny amounts of dishwashing soap mixed in and the results weren't as good pure vodka.

Hope this helps.

you can use rubbing alcohol....much cheaper been doing it for years...do not get any on the paint it will remove the wax.

I find rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) doesn't work quite as good. It is safe for plastics though and is cheaper.

Um...how much would it cost just to use generic Windex? $12 of that stuff will last a long time...

I prefer Stoner's Window cleaner, in the aerosol can, works great and best of all should it drip on the paint, it doesn't harm anything, as long as you wipe it off with a wet micro fibre towel.

I'll save the $8 difference and put it towards a bottle of Svedka or Skyy and enjoy the Martini, shaken not stirred... Just call me Bond, James Bond.

Invisible glass has worked really well for me.

At least with the vodka, you can spray some in your mouth while cleaning your car should you get thirsty!

not THAT kinda vodka....a little spray of that in your mouth will make you run for water

So what does anyone here use to wipe the windows? I use a paper towel, but I always find the fibers of the towel on my windows. Can anyone suggest anything else that won't shed? And if so, where can I get it?

LOL that's what I was thinking...and it already comes w/ a spray bottle !!

p.s. I use those tough blue shop towel rolls for cleaning glass. they don't disintegrate very easily and don't leave too many paper fibers at all. a bit more expensive than generic paper towel, but very useful.

if vodka and alcohol touches your paint it will basically unseal your car of any protection (ex: wax and/or sealant) . i like using sprayway in an aerosol can since it foams up instead of running all over the place. and a nice MF just for windows. woo yeah. btw paint cleaner waxes work really well for windows too like Klasse All In One it helps bead and shed water.

I used to LOVE invisible glass, used it for years BUT lately I can't find it anywhere in SoCal :sadwavey:

I recently picked up Armor All's window cleaner and it works really well but I don't use it for the inside since it doesn't actually say, "safe for tinted windows". I just use some cheap microfiber towels I picked up at Pep Boys for the windows.

HAHA, when I saw the Vodka mention, was totally thought you guys were talking about normal drinking Vodka.

I've used newpapers and an aerosol window cleaner for years and it worked great. I didn't have tinted windows back then so I'm not sure if it's a good idea on the inside with tint. COLOR newspapers leave ink behind, make sure you get black/white ONLY, and it works charms and normally free!

clean your windows with vodka while smoking a cigarette, comes out perfect
