Black Magic Tire Shine yay or nay
 

I've been using black magic for years. It really gets your tires shiny, but lately i've been having some issues. It's been building up and now i have to scrub it off to remove it. If i apply another coat on top of that ofcourse it gets worse. Anyone experiencing the same problem with this product? Other reccomendations? Thanks in advance. :spank:

I use the meguiars nxt tire spray and it does the same thing. It builds up and I use dawn to get off the old stuff.

Use aerospace 303 on them, looks much more natural but good and no build up. And it actually protects them too.

totally agree, 303 is the second best thing i have found in a long time.

does all plastic also and lasts a long time.

I just washed them with car shampoo and avoid tire products, I actually liked the natural dull rubber look.

The funny thing about it is I havent added or scrubbed my tires in a few months so it wore off and at this point the shine is nice...but if i keep adding more shine to it it's gonna build up all over again..i guess i'll try that aerospace 303 stuff...where do you get it? let me know thanks

i did a google search and got a gallon as a spa place, great deal.

I picked up my bottle of 303 aerospace at Super Autobacs in Stanton, Xdeed. It may be a bit far for you to go since you are in Gardena.

i just started to use black magic. i'm not really pleased with the results i am getting either. i want a deep glossy black to my tires, and i only get half of that at best. with more than one application too.

i guess i have to make a trip to autobacs...it's kinda far but i don't mind making a trip up there once in a while to look at overpriced stuff..haha thanks for the info. actually their carmate airfreshners are pretty cheap there..haha :ylsuper:

In my experience, if you want the greatest shine to durability ratio, Meguiar's Hot Tire Shine is it. I found it better than the NXT version even...the NXT disappeared practically overnight after a rainy day, the Hot Tire Shine stays on even through several days of rain.

But I stopped using such things as well for the same reason...way too hard to get that stuff all off once it's one. Scrubbed it all off and have stuck with Aerospace 303 ever since.

i'll give that a shot cuz that's the effects i'm looking for on my tires :)

Black Magic is what I usually use.

I was using their Tire Gel for a while but it's hard to find these days. I've just gone back to their spray bottle (w/ Eagle1 application pads) and it looks pretty good.

Deedubb, you wash your car like every other day...just get to scrubbin' that old stuff off instead of adding more wax. ;)

Try applying Simple Green to your tires BEFORE you start to wash the car. After you've sprayed the whole car off hit the wheels and tires and the Simple Green should have cut through the brownish colored build up.

I use a professional grade wheel and tire cleaner from Blue Coral that our dealership gets in bulk, but before that I used S.G. and it got rid of that crap with little or no scrubbing just a high powered sprayer.

i know dude, im just lazy to scrape all that gunk off, last time i just used paper towels to do it..hahah oh yea btw, happy brithday man! :bootyshak

2nd that. A stiff brush and car shampoo takes away dirt, scuffs and any oxidized rubber -- gets 'em clean, not shiny. Tires should look like tires, imo. A lot of folks keep looking for a product that "doesn't look like you put anything on". Lol, I think I've found it. :D:

last night what i used when i washed my car was original armor all. all i did was apply a total of four coats on each wheel. i applied two coats on one wheel, moved to the next wheel, and did that all the way around, when i got back to the first wheel, i wiped the wheel down, and applied two more coats of armor all. IMO, it works better than black magic.

Eagle 1 Wheel and Tire Cleaner should help you out Deedubb.

I just picked some up b/c my rims were pretty dirty and I noticed it said you could spray it on the wheels.
-Works GREAT!
-Just spray, let it sit for 30 seconds, then rinse off.

-It'll get rid of all that built up tire shine.

ONLY if you spray it on the tires.

Deedubb has too many coats of shine on his tires so he has to remove it eventually or it looks bad AND it doesn't stick to the tires anymore. it will just fly off and end up on the side of your car (doors , etc)

It's good to have a couple of coats on but after a while, it does more harm then good.

I havent added a coat of tire shine since 7stock and because black magic is so dam thick my tires are still shiny..oh well, all the gunk is completely off now.

i will add a new coat for the jtuned meet, my tires are getting dry now...
