Nothing looks finer than black but is require much more upkeep than the other colors.

you should check autopia board. They have tons of info on how to keep your car looking at its best. I own a black miata and it's really harder to keep clean than a lighter colored vehicles. But nothing beats black when it's nicely detailed. check it out. http://www.autopia.org.

All the big brands for Detailing and waxing have certain formulas in their line that address this issue...
Several members here are using Zaino, which if you buy the kit Z5 is the swirl mark remover, and Meguiars also has this in thier 3 step detailing kit as well, i just can't remember it's name. There are others out there to...Mother's, etc...run a search on "swirl marks" you'll come up with tons of info... |
Zaino... with applicator pads so it gives a nice finish... go to autozone... and ask them specifically on what your car has marks on... cause my friend had a black supra (wrecked it)... but when he had it he had all this scratches when he bought it.. he put all this kind of products on of them Zaino.. it takes like 3 hours.. or so to finish everything...
i recommend to get RED, SILVER, or WHITE... less upkeep.. and looks just as sweet. So, my friend got another 94 Supra... RED and it looks sweeter than the red ... and he ended up liking it... not to zaino it... and all that other crap every week... only once a month... |
Also don't use those rough brushes to wash with, only a sponge or cloth. And keeping it clean helps, don't let it get too dirty or swirling the dirt around scratches it.

I don;t know whether you have Meguires in US... they have a product call Stratch X which is fantasic for fine swirls which is great...
I don't find black car is a particular problem. I have 2 - the black Holden always out in the sun - although the paint oxidised it still shine. My 8 have fine swirls at the back just because it gather too much dust. Use the scratch X and it is fine. Make sure you cleam every single thing you wash the car with in the washing machine. |
I hose it down every three days and wash it about every two ~ three weeks. Use a lot of water and clean materials to dry it off (microfiber / cotton / chamios) and you'll enjoy the best looking car around!
