B pillar tape chipped ... suggestions on fixing?

3 Attachment(s)
The tape on the passenger side B pillar has chipped on on both edges (see images). I was thinking of getting a pair of appliques to cover them up but I do not think they will cover the chipped spots. I am a bit opposed to just taking the tape off of both pillars, as I like the look as it is and feel a white stripe down the middle of the windows kinda breaks the "flow" of things. Any WWP RX-8s out there with the tape removed? Pics?

What possible options might I have for covering these spots? How hard would it be to go about re-taping the pillar? Is the tape for this sold by the dealership?

Furthermore, the tape has also chipped on the metal "knob" on the rear quarter window, showing bare metal; I sloppily painted over it with a pen-type touch up paint with mediocre success. If I could get the pillar re-taped somehow, maybe I should think about doing the same with the quarter window.

You can buy the vinyl from Mazda, pre-cut

..or you could get vinyl put on at any good sign shop.....,

I have the same on both of mine - been thinking about getting the MS appliques but am unsure...

I am definitely going to get the appliques after getting this tape issue sorted out.

I thought about that at first, but it'd be going on the paint, and it wouldn't be perfect.

I think I found the right parts on onlinemazdaparts.com... I'm going to check with the local dealerships to see how much they'd charge to get the stuff. Unfortunately, it appears I'd have to order a whole new bolt for the rear quarter window if I want that fixed ($7!).
