applying wax by hand

I watched the video on here of the guy cleaning elite cars and he applied his wax by hand. I decided to give it a try with a paste wax after washing and clay barring. It was messy but it seemed more effective than using an appplicator pad.

One, you could really steer clear of plastic where as cloth sometimes it will get on black plastic which is almost impossible to get off. It was also easy to get in tight spots with precision. I never had that feeling that I missed a spot. It also felt like I was really massaging the wax into the surface and filling every nook and cranny equally.

End result: Outstanding. I highly recommend trying this method and ditch the pads/cloth. My gf thought I was crazy until she felt and saw the results. Can't say she wanted to participate in the application though.

what wax did you apply by hand? i hope it was pure carnauba.

but this procedure is actually suppose to be used on zymol's product line which requires heat from one's hand to activate the 'zymes' mixed in the carnauba.

Ngo - I used 3M paste wax. It's a bad investment to get expensive wax since the car has hellafied miles and the paint was never taken care of properly. I wish I had a pic of what I started with. Some of the best results I ever got and should last a while.

What do you mean when you say expensive?

I also found out by waxing my car with my hand you seems to get the parts that you missed. Car shine better for me...just my two cents.
