2011 Meguiar's Products Review

Hey Everyone, today I will be reviewing 5 of the new, 2011 Meguair's Car Care Products. They were all used on a 2004 LY RX8.

The covered products will be:

1. Ultimate Polish
2. Ultimate Liquid Wax
3. Ultimate Protectant / Interior Shine
4. Ultimate Quik Detailer
5. Ultimate Quik Wax

Let's Begin...

1. Ultimate Polish ($15)
After washing my car thoroughly, I started my waxing job with the Ultimate Polish. The product is white in color, and very easy to apply. Simply apply some to a foam applicator and spread, overlapping 6 times on each small area. Then wipe off a few times with a dry micro-fiber cloth (Do not let it dry).

The Result: Although I could have applied more than I did (I was being conservative with it sadly), the Polish gave my car s clear shine and slightly removed swirl marks and blemishes. PLEASE NOTE: This product was, and is to be used in shade only. I used in direct sunlight, which is why I never received maximum results. Even with this, it gave the car a really nice shine.

Life-Span: I did my car in one layer, and have just around 3/4 left.

In Sunlight - 7.5/10
Shade - 9/10

2. Ultimate Liquid Wax ($35)
This is the newest of Liquid waxes (As I type this anyways), and I must say it is fantastic. Like the Ultimate Polish, this is very easy to apply. Simply apply with the included foam applicator, let dry to haze, and remove with micro-fiber cloth (Also included). PLEASE NOTE: Unlike the Ultimate Polish, the Ultimate Liquid Wax CAN be used in direct sunlight, which is how I applied it.

The Result: A beautiful looking, and smooth feeling surface across the entire car. Unfortunately I still had visible swirl marks where the sun was directly hitting, but that was my fault because of how I applied the Polish. Never the less, I am thrilled with the results - Especially because only a day later the car got quite muddy and dusty, and when I went to the wand wash, all the dirt and mud just slid off the car, leaving a like-new wax shine.

Life-Span: I did my entire car with only one layer, and still have 3/4 of the bottle left.

In Sunlight - 10/10 - Extremely easy and fast to apply and leaves a spectacular feel and look.

3. Ultimate Protectant (Interior Shine "Dash and Trim Restorer") ($14)
Before using this product, I had been using Armour All - Until I got fed up with the greasiness of both the look and feel, and the fact that it did not last long. THIS on the other hand, is the exact opposite. Extremely easy to apply - Pour a dab onto a cloth (Terry, foam, microfiber, etc.) and simply spread on the dash, doors, etc.

The Result:Within seconds the product completely dries and leaves one of the best shines I have seen for this car. You can rub your hands across it all you like, and it is completely dry to the touch, and rubbing it with hands, cloths, etc. will not affect the finish AT ALL. By far the most amazing product out of this bunch - Extremely shiny but not greasy at all.

Life-Span: I did my entire interior twice, as well as my friends Fusion once, and still have at least 1/2 bottle left. Also, it has lasted, on average, 3 - 5 weeks before I start noticing it fading, and even then it is very minor. (Used on dash, floor trim, leather seats [to try and was brilliant], doors front and back, center console, as well as the top of the back seat area - All plastic/vinyl in car was done).

Score: 10/10 - By far the best interior detailer I have ever used for quickness and efficiency, and life-span. You won't find anything better than this (IMO)

4. Ultimate Quik Detailer ($15)
So I used this product after my first wand wash after waxing my car. Although I probably could have, and should have, used it immediately after waxing, it still worked wonders. This product is used to restore the wax and enhance its shine, feel, and lifetime. Easy to apply - Just spray and wipe, and make a final wipe. PLEASE NOTE: This product is to be used in shade, which is how I applied it. Very easy to apply and very, very quick.

The Result: Even though my car looked freshly waxed, this product brought out the shine and smoothness that much more. Actually, it almost feels like its a wax on top of a wax! This is great stuff to use between washes, and only takes 10 minutes to apply!

Life-Span: I did my entire car, and gave it a good coating; it doesn't even feel like anything is out of the bottle. I would imagine I have 9.7/10th's of the bottle left - This product will allow you to apply it dozens of times before having to buy again!

Score: 9.5/10 - It really does make the wax last a lot longer, and brings it's true wax-like look and feel back instantly. Even after a fresh wax, it gave the wax some "steroids" and the wax was that much better. Highly recommended!

5. Ultimate Quik Wax ($15)
Although I rarely use this product (Because I normally wax, and if I need to slightly restore I use the Quik Detailer), it did come in handy on other vehicles that needed a boost in the shine department. Although nothing like a full polish, wax, and detailing, it still worked quite well for being a spray-on wax. To apply, just spray and wipe. That easy.

The Result: I used this product on a black Cavalier, a blue Fusion, and a red Mustang. I only sprayed half areas in order to compare, then continued. But the result was quite great for what it is. It removes quite a bit of the swirl marks on the car, and livens up the paint color quite well. Like said, it is no wax, but is still does make the car feel nice and have a great, wet-look reflectivity to it.

Life-Span: I did all three (3) cars, and still have at least 1/2 the bottle left.

Score: 7/10 for what the product is. If you don't have time to fully wax your car, this is definitely an option. It may require a few coats, but it is fast and easy to apply, and really does make the car shine and look reflective like it is suppose to.

So there is a review of some of Meguair's new products. I am not doing this as advertising or anything, I have written this review because these are the products that I know use and I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to have the "Ultimate" show car shine and wax, both exterior and interior. I have tried Mothers, Armour All, and a few others, but these products are the evident winners in my choice.

Thanks for reading! :wavey:

I will get pics up Asap, except it is snowing here. Thats right - Snowing. And that's on top of the flooding going on across the province. What great weather for mid-April.

Anyways, I'll snap some shots when I can, but the car will most likely be wet and not a lot of sun on it, so I'll also put up pics next time I do this process again (I'll put them in this thread as well)

OK, I just went and snapped some pics. PLEASE NOTE: These photos do NOT justify the actual quality - They were taken with a Samsung Galaxy/Fascinate with a 5MP Camera and a lens the size of a head on a ball point pen. These are just teasers... I will take some better ones when its not dark out and not raining and snowing.

A few more pics... like I said its dark out and with a crap camera. The actual result is much, much, much better than shown in these pictures
