its 1:59 a.m. and both my cars just got nailed with eggs. i was sitting watchin espn and then i hear "clack, clack, clack". first i thought someone was actually tapping on my windows. then i jumped in some sweat pants, put on my flipflops, grabbed the firepoker from my fireplace, and ran outside. luckily the rx8 had the cover on but the cover got nailed with a couple  . but my poor mustang took a couple hits all on the driver side  . while i'm out side with water and towels i see some kids walk towards a car about 10 houses down. so i'm all amped up and i start walking down the street like a freakin lunatic shirtless with the firepoker, next thing i know they see me, gun it for their own car, and speed off in the other direction. so that kinda made it obvious cuz i was WAAAAY down the street (100 yards i'd say), the most they could have seen was someone walking towards them. well, any advice on egg yolk on black paint???? definite claybar??? i figured i could just wash the car cover or suck it up and by another.

also in the end i called the police, told them not to worry about coming to my house personally, but to take note if anyone else in the neighborhood calls that i saw a shady group just in a car and dart off (4 door sedan, and i was to far to recognize the rear taillights). well  i'm wide awake now and in the back of my mind i'm listening to every freakin sound outside the house.
also this is exactly what i feel like doing to those kids right now: https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...id=80320&stc=1

oh shit... dude hurry up and wash your car ASAP! ASAP!!! RIGHT NOW. it doesnt matter if its dark out! use car wash soap! just wash it ASAP. the acid and everythign will etch your paint and if u let it sit long enough it will seep all the way in and crack it. now wash it asap. if you dont have car wash soap use very little bit of Dawn dish washing detergent or w/e dish detergent you can find. it might be already etched but that you can take care of tomorrow or later on when the acid from the egg is gone. you will need to re-wax and everything. so just go out and wash the WHOLE car.

im sorry for this to happen to you......damn i hate lifeless people messing around with others property!! i got my car egged and keyed like a year ago right infront of my driveway late at night....but the bad thing was that i found out in the morning when i was going to move my car. goddamn those yolk was hella hard to clean off since it was dried up!!! i had to keep scrubbing with the car soap and sponge. but i think if you soak it by spraying it for a while will make it easier to scrub off... after that night i never parked my car out over night again. well my car was silver and after the egging...there were some swirly chipped paint marks where the eggs hit. damn i was pissed, but later i ended up trading my car in for a 05 pearl white.

so i suggest you to check if your car got any paint chips where the eggs hit.... :(

Ohh man! Sorry to hear. My 8 got egged twice. The yolk/white was on the car for over 4 hours (I washed it right when I noticed it) however, fortunately it didn't do any paint damage (the egging incident occurred over 8 months ago) with the exception to a rotational pattern of microscopic chips from the impact of the shell.

thanks guys, i washed the car first thing real quick before i went to work but i luck out that it was just my beating. the car cover for the rx8 held up and nothing got through the other side, but to play it safe i'm gonna get a new cover on my lunch break today. i left the cover on the rx8 now for the time being ( i hosed the egg off real good in the morning.) and its gonna rain like hell here in jersey today and tonight so the cover's staying on. now the first nice hour or two i get this weekend i'll wax the mustang paint and probably claybar beforehand anyways just to be safe.
SNTP i've never known eggyolk held such a power on car paint before. thanks for the advice, lets hope that down the road nothing cracks. as for the neighborhood kids, i think its time to buy a german sheperd.

as long as its wash with detergent its good. lol. because once egg hardens it not only etches it will stick tot he paint and crack and/or peel it. well luck with your neighbors!

fucking kids... sorry to hear about your luck bro, and hope nothing is permanently damaged with your rides.

I havent had to deal with any eggings yet (thank god) but for some reason my rear rotary accent dissappeard a few days ago and had to spend 40 bucks to get a new one :( I find it kinda hard to believe that it just fell off on its own.

Even if I was going thru the most blinding rage towards someone else I would never fuck with another mans vehicle.... its like a code that should be eteched into everyone's brain.

damn... that sucks. sorry man.

update, there are 3 definite dents in my driver door on the stang. around each dent is a small spot of chipped paint and circular chips surrounding each spot. best guess is they were REALLY close when they fired those eggs at that car. i have touch up paint for it will i'll apply after the raining weekend plus probably wax over it a couple times.

SIDE NOTE i talked to that suspicous house's owning today when i got home from work. it was a middle age father (only one home at the time) with a recent highschool grad living their. i didn't act like an ass, i just told him i was worrying about his cars cuz when i was cleaning mine in the middle of the night i saw a group outside his home.

SayNoToPistons 06-23-2006 07:50 PM

hm... wtfbbq. remember to apply the touch up with a toothpick or something thin and remember to apply higher than the original paint so you can sand it down to match perfectly. good luck finding the basturd/s
