1st wash - Best way to remove Dealer plastic glue?

When I picked my car up from the dealer they didnt wax it- which I guess is fine.... ANyway there is the remaining glue from the protective plastic. WHat is the best way to get that off? I bought a spray citrus cleaner and was wondering if that would be alright.

ANy thoughts- I am also planning on clay barring it- When they installed my 3M coating they did clay bar the hood- and the glue still remained. (of course not under the 3M- the installation was great- even better than on my first 8)

Use WD-40. Spray it on a clean cloth and then rub off the glue residue.

Works great.

The Orange will probably just spread it and may do some other stuff. Read what it says not to use it on.

the dealer uses something called"prosol" i got them to put some in a spraybottle i provided and i have used it many times. it is ridiculous that they dont do a better job at the dealer getting that s**t off it really makes me mental. there are still places i havent gotten to yet that have that crap on it.... good luck, see if the dealer will give you some if you provide the bottle it comes off instantly with that stuff happy motoring

emailists you might find remnants of the glue after the first few washings. A day after my first wash I came out to my car and thought that someone had keyed it straight across the hood. I thought that I had washed thouroughly, but the residue from the edge of the protective film was still there and attracted a line of dirt that looked like a scratch. Looked the rest of the car over and found other areas where the same thing was happening - on top of the fenders and on the trunk. I hadn't waxed yet so I used bug and tar remover and a lot of water to keep from scratching the paint.
