Where do your cords show?

For anyone who has run NT-01, or similar soft compound tires to the cords, where they show first? This is my first set and I'm wondering if I should adjust something for the next set...

It is the inside edge that has corded on mine. I did not flip the tires, but did rotate to even out the wear.

on my V710s, they didn't cord, but I exposed the rubber casing underneath the outer layer in patches in the center area of the tire. I don't run a ton of camber though as I'm on a stock suspension. I think somewhere around -1.75 front and -1.4 in the rear IIRC?

Can't answer your question, but I have read on other forums that Nitto confirmed that the sidewall construction is the same inside/outside, so you can flip them without any consequences.

What are your alignment settings, and how many sessions/days did you get out of them?

About 6.5 days, 30-35 sessions.
Camber was at -2.8F, -2.5R. Toe was close to zero, but should probably check that now as I have made some small changes to weight and ride height recently and it has been a couple years since I had it set.

Looking at the amount of tread on the new tires, I don't think the wear is too uneven. I thought there would be some tread left at the bottom of the grooves, but it seems like there is very little left at that point.

I'll see how it goes with the next set, but will probably try flipping them. I guess I could get another 1-2 days out of them if I do.

It's close to a "push" then, at ~$80-100 to flip them and a cost of $725-$800 for the set. Unless you have a really cheap and convenient mounting option...

Also, are you driving to the track on them? I'm guessing not. At those camber settings it would certainly promote wear on the inside shoulders while street driving.

I'm running a similar alignment but slightly more street tolerant (-2f/-1.7r), and my wear seems pretty even so far (8 sessions plus driving 100 miles on street). But it's so early in their wear that it's inconclusive at this point. Of course I want more camber so will probably creep up to where you are soon enough...

TL;DR- you're doing pretty well I'd say!

I drive to and from the track on them, but no more than that. I took a look at them when I arrived the first time I did it after a 200 mile drive and they still looked brand new though, so I don' think that has any real impact.

One thing I will be more careful about this time is driving to/from accommodation or gas stations close to the track. I might have done that a couple of times with fairly low tire pressures after adjusting them for hot pressures on track.

I have now booked it in for an alignment next week as well so I'll soon know if it has moved much from my original settings.
