Takata, Sabelt, Willans, and Sparco
 

i have been in constant debate one weather i should get takata 4 point harnesses, or go for sabelt and sparco. this is what i have found out so far:

Takata- brilliant quality. my brother has them, but a bit expensive.
Sabelt- very popular amoung euro racing, havn't read much or heard much about them.
Willans- seen them used, seen them work. brilliant.
Sparco- not too happy about them, thin and "ricer" reputation. Buddy of mine had them in his rsx-s and it held, but felt cheap and kregan like.

id love to hear anyone's experiences with their harnesses or if someone has traded their belts in for something they feel is more useful.

P.S. I will be attaching the harnesses to a roll cage, not sure which type, but id love to know how people set up their harnesses.

i have a set of takata harnesses and love them, they are awsome, i only put them in when i'm goin to the track but i bolt use the included eyelet bolts on the stock seat belt locations for the lap belt, and click them on the babyseat hooks that are in the back seats, they work perfect, i eventually wana make a more solid mount for the rear but for now it works and passes tech

While they don't have any riceboy street cred, the best deal going on a real set of harnesses is through Ultrashield. Both padded and unpadded camlock harnesses at a better price than anything else you'll find out there.

BTW, your comment about Sparco makes me wonder what you're actually buying these harnesses for. You do realize that Sparco's 5 and 6-point belts are FIA certified, right? They're a lot safer than any 4-point ricer harnesses out there. Are you really looking for safety equipment to keep you safe on the track (in which case, why would you buy a 4-point belt), or is this just for looks?

takata is the way to go. it might be expensive but very good quality!

im looking for 4 point daily-track set up. i dont care for looks, im just not the biggest fan of 5-6 pointers because they are very comfertable but its another thing to strap in.

I have a Takata set for sale right now pretty cheap. $275 shipped. this isn't the spot, but if you are looking. MPH-341R never used with the hooks to connect to the rear babyseat and all the eye bolts.

my understanding is that willans are the best

I have sabelts in my race car, they are fine, nothing special. An anti-sub belt in a 5 way is pretty essential if your racing. Don't take the safety stuff for granted, terrible things can and will happen on the track when you least expect them. I once got hit on a warm up lap!

............personally...you won't catch me with a harness without something to keep the roof from collapsing on my head :)
