Thanks for posting the schedule Mike. I'll most likely be at the NJ NT. The MD Pro is tempting, but it's *very* early in the season. I'll have to see if I can get at least one local event in first to knock the rust off.

bump, anyone looking for a nice set of 18 x 9 SSR Type-C wheels?

I'll have to see if I can beat mwood for the most RX-8s driven. Wonder how many he's up to.

I'm in for Dixie, it's the only event close enough for me to drive to. I hear the Merideths will be back next year, too. Hoping for a big class!

I will be in the coming months... I have been a silent observer of this thread for awhile. When I make an actual debut to Auto-X within the next couple of months hopefully, I will give you a call... GLWS until then...

I'm tentatively planning to go to Dixie too with a co-driver. It's a long-*** haul from Detroit though, so we'll see how we feel about it in the coming months.

Might be doing the Dixie tour also. I just lined up a co-driver with a truck and trailer, which opens up some more possibilities. Dare I say, maybe Nationals? Don't hold me to that though, I've got a baby on the way in the next couple weeks.

Sorry man, meant to mention that in my earlier reply and got distracted. Will get that other info to you soon.

I will try to be at Dixie, but it is too early to commit now. I may eventually be back on the wrong coast next year, but am not anticipating it happening before the Summer if even then. Lot of change in the wind for my life at this time.

I'm considering doing more cone dodging rather then track days, so I'm looking at doing the Peru, IN and Lincoln, NE events possibly..
And I won't be protesting anyone since i'm slow :D

I thought I'd share my STX legal intake setup as an alternative to buying the MS or AEM and modifying it, which would cost maybe $400-ish. I just bought a couple of aluminum tubing bends, some silicone couplers and a filter for less than $150. It took a little bit of welding, but I think that this could be done without any welding for only another $50.

A full writeup (including a list of things that I had to buy) is here and the finished product looks like this:

Ignore the fact that my car is really dirty.

If you don't want to weld anything (or CNC machine a MAF mount), you can get a MAF tube like this one for $13

And the vacuum tubes can be connected with
this kind of thing this kind of thing

I welded everything together because I could and because it's lighter, so the whole thing is about 4.8 lbs, for a total of 7.25 lbs of weight savings. I haven't put it on a dyno, so I don't know about power, but the car generally drives the same as it did before even with no screens in the intake.

There's actually no real tech here, because all I did was fit tubes in to connect from one place to another, but I hope this is helpful to somebody anyway.
