Stone Guard / rocker panel trim / clips

Howdy,

So the stone guards on my car had been shortened for some splash guards that I took off, and the passenger side one took a cone hit yesterday and ripped off part of the front tab.

So a few questions...

Can someone confirm that I want these to replace them?

FE02-50-4R1B (left)

There are others listed, but those show as being w/o mudflaps & are ~$6.50 and not $50 or $100...

Second, how the heck do the clips work? Do they just pry out of the body or is there more to it than that? The front clip is sheared off, so I need to remove it to put another clip in there. Plus I need to figure out what the clip is to get another one.

Appreciate any "been there, fixed that" advice. Posting in the racing section because anyone with half a brain and a street car would just remove these things and throw them away. :-)

Edit: And yes Mark, I did search. :-)

What you have listed is for the guard at the lower rear of the front wheel well liner (Illustration No. 2). It is held on with the same rivets as the liner.

The stone guard under the rocker panel is Illustration No. 3. It has one special clip at the front that uses a screw to keep the whole thing in place. The other clips are just a slip fit which is why the one screw clip is required.

Howdy,

Ah... I get how you're supposed to read that illustration now. Thanks Mark!

And... Crap. :-) Guess I'll looks for some junkyard ones or something if I get serious about this. For now, I just ghetto drilled / tapped the broken clip and used a sheetrock screw and some washers to reattach the front of the stone guard that's there.

I still say that should have been covered under the mudflap rub guard trim rule in ST. This is the kind of ruling that makes the SCCA Solo rules look excessively petty and stupid.
