not any more, going back to Stock, plus there's DKNV's Stock car too ... and they've got stiff front bars to boot
|
Ah, okay. I need to play with this bar. I have it on one setting softer than stock now, but need to try stiffer and see how that feels. I really just need some major time on a skidpad to get these 2812s dialed in. :P

What is this off-turn push you guys keep talking about? :dunno:
Maybe you need to drive my car some time ... Seriously, I'd like to give it a spin (hopefully not literally) next time you and Debbie come down the hill to the Bay Area. |

I don't know, but it seems to me that the bigger item might end up being the changes indicated, but unexplained, in the rear suspension?
The gearing thing, in terms of max speed in 2nd, is probably not too big a deal, as it seems there are less and less "National" type courses where exceeding 60mph is going to happen in the RX8. Of course, if there is a big difference in mid range 2nd gear acceleration, that would be huge... If weight is equal between these two RX-8 generations, the new model *should* be faster - especially on tighter courses where speeds don't exceed 60mph. If it is slightly heavier, it could very well be course dependent which car would come out on top (given equal drivers in each). Btw, my point earlier about the AP1/AP2 S2000 was not to say that they were as similar as the new RX-8 to old RX-8, just that both cars are fast in different ways yet end up being almost dead even on most autocross courses. Heck, Nats in '07 had an East Course full of transitions and a West courses that favored powerful cars w/ traction - Collett was fastest on both courses in Wynveen's AP1. :dunno: |
