Racing Gloves
so i am looking to get a pair of nomex racing gloves. any suggestions on what is a good glove for a reasonable price?
thanks guys! |
This is something you should be able to find on EBAY.
|
I'm not so sure that eBay is going to give him any advice on what glove is good...
|
yeah i was looking for input from drivers that own different gloves to find out what feels right on the track and what doesnt
|
It's all personal preference. This question is like asking what kind of underwear do you wear? Your best bet is to go to some type of auto competition store and try on some gloves...depending on how far you live from Millville, I'd suggest you check out the track store at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Get a pair of certified ones that fit your hands.....
Like I8U said...go somewhere and try on a few pairs and get the ones that fit the best Helmets are the same...they fit different..so try them on for the best one for you |
i hear that, i def dont want to be stuck with gloves that dont fit me well
just wondering should i be sticking to the sparco brands or considering the less popular FIA approved ones as well |

The OMP's fell apart, I lost the Sparcos, but thought they were just ok, and the Simpsons are still going strong...and comfy, but with good feel through the finger leather. |
I have a fairly cheap pair of Shift gloves. They are nomex and leather and work well for my needs (once or twice a month). I bought mine on www.saferacer.com
They were a pretty good resource and had good prices too. Here is the basic pair I bought. They are reasonable and fine for what I do (HPDEs). I have relatively small hands and they fit me well. http://www.saferacer.com/shift-rt-au...productid=1103 |
I have a pair of OMP gloves....they are great gloves
Kinda hurt the pocketbook though :( |
i have a pair of these:
http://www.ogracing.com/catalog/1-Dr...DRIVING-GLOVES tried them on in person at the actual OG Racing main store here in Sterling VA, they felt great. |
I spent good money on my first pair (Sparco). They had holes in them very quickly.
My current pair (SafeQuip) cost me a quarter of the Sparco's cost and are just as comfy. http://www.safequipracingproducts.co...ing_gloves.htm |
OMP Gran Premio's.
|
|
I have the G-Force as well. Good Price, Good Glove. 20-25 track days on em and no issues.
|
I do like the Alpinestars Tech 1 R's, they feel really good and are grippy as hell.
|
I have the G-Force's as well and like them. I tried on the Alpinestars at VIR once and they felt like sex, but I don't pay for sex. Well, not over $100.
|
HAHA! Nice one Pat...got mine on sale for $85.
|
yeah i was thinking about going down the g-force route after looking at the prices for some of the sparco, or alpinestars gloves
seems like the extra money doesnt justify the quality |
I just use my GI nomex aviator gloves. They can be had inexpensively here: http://www.uswings.com/gloves.asp

I don't use gloves but if I did I would use my dear skin gloves which are hand made.
They can be found at any good motorcyle shop. |

http://www.sparcousa.com/pracewear_gloves.asp?id=680 and they are sicccccccck  and did not even pay close to that price :lol:x2 |
Oh my God we don't care......
Just kidding. Thanks for the feed back. By the way are you expecting a fire? Those are gauntlet gloves. |
