Poll for B-stock drivers (RX-8 & 350Z) - fastest 60ft in a Pro Solo?
Just want to get an idea of the best 60fts various B-stock drivers have been able to cut in Pro Solos on r-comps irregardless of whether you're in an RX-8 or 350Z.
Please note that this is a public poll. |
Got to tell you this is worthless. The lights at a Pro are never at 60' feet. Take the "prosolo 60'" and the different surfaces and you can vary a lot. The only way to get a real 60' is at the drag strip. btw you should also change your selections, try 2.0 to 2.4 range. :icon_no2:

Not to mention that surfaces vary, and sometimes the first corner is close enough to the start that you need to lift before breaking the 60' beam...

Understood - I still wanted to get an idea of what the fastest times you've ever officially cut to the '60ft' mark in a Pro Solo? I came across a thread where Iain mentioned that his co-driver Foley was cutting some 2.0 60fts in their RX-8. Wasn't sure if any RX-8/350Z drivers have ever cut a 1.9 or even 1.8 at their very best.

I agree with Jason and Steve's comments...there are too many variables to place much faith in comparisons made using data from a bunch of different Pros...but, I will also say that at Topeka, where we were all at the same length and on the same surface, we did see a couple of 2.09X times and a bunch of mid to low 2.1X times...which I'd bet is as good as you're going to see from the RX8 on DOT R's and with stiff rear shocks and front sway bar. I don't know about Lee's times in the Z.
Didn't SCCA publish the 60' times from the Finale? |
For what it's worth, here's the Toldeo ProSolo results with RT's. The grip at the line is extremely good on this surface and the start was on a slight uphill grade this year. We were launching near the "buzzer" with 285 Hooisers to prevent bogging. As you might expect, Lee still ate our lunch to the (roughly) 60ft mark in the 350z.
http://sccaforums.com/forums/storage...edoProRT60.pdf On average the Z-car is going to pull us by about 1 tenth, the quicker the first turn happens, the better for the RX8. Best RX-8 60ft at this event 2.161, Best 350z, 2.021. Chris H |
Great info. Thanks Chris!

I consistently ran 2.0x throughout the 2005 season (2005 Toledo Pro posted, last place car was a 350Z that also ran consistent 2.0x))
However, running fastest to 60 ft and being fastest to the finish line are two entirely different things at a Pro Solo  In addition to the noted site to site variances, a Pro start doesn't have a dedicated launch pad that get's gooped with tire grip chemicals like a drag strip does . |
I ran 2.1X at Ennis on stock Shit-tenzas on stock wheels [pre 275's +RPF-1's].
I'd be more concerned with the first turn than cutting a 1.9 though :)
