also think about losing the bumper supports/crash bars as well
those things weigh a ton and it's not like youre going to need them for autoX

In DSP we can only use the OE diff ratios. I plan to start off staying with the 4.44 ratio. May swap to the 4.77 ratio if I'm not hitting the 2nd gear rev limiter much. The S2 diff was available, but since I have the OS Giken lsd it seemed to make more sense for me to buy the R&P than a whole diff.

We can't even remove the plastic shroud on the crash bar, let alone the bar itself. It can't even be removed in SM, only in Prepared or Modified. It may seem odd ghat you can use a $4000 clutch/flywheel setup and nkt do that. The rules are the rules.

The DSP build has begun! New aero from JoeFis Racing has been installed as well as a Sparco 383 wheel. The wheel is 330mm and feels amazing!

The install of the wing was a breeze and I can take the thing on and off in less than two minutes, with no tools at all. If you're interested in going the same route with Aero check out www.joefisracing.com!

The car was already paxing ahead of two time National Champ Jadrice Toussiant in his ESP Boss Mustang at last week's event, with just some 275 BFG's on and the steering wheel.

EDIT: Keep in mind, that was sarcasm. You know I <3 you Mike.

Honestly, I'll be interested to see how it looks with front aero and the side skirts. Will be very interested.

what's next up on the list?

Turbo.

Wait no thats not right! Trying to decide which flywheel would be best for the money. Looked at BHR and ACT. And then removing the CAT and making the exhaust a little lighter.

Haha, nice! I was like... where is the picture? Oh.. Cliff hanger.

I've had both and I liked the BHR one better personally. Saves almost an extra pound too, so why not? What clutch are you thinking? When this ACT one goes, I'm probably just going to get it again because it felt great.

Static weight in that increment is not an indicator of "better". Only the MOI matters.

edit: revised for accuracy

I thought you had a mini-clutch, or rather I assumed you were the one that snapped up the 5.5" clutch & flywheel that Eb sold about a year ago.

btw, a builder who recently balanced a Renesis rotating assy with Stage 1HD Exedy clutch and ACT Pro-lite FW using the supposedly-superior ACT counterweight told me it required more modification and addition of heavy metal to get balanced than the OE auto cw usually does, so much for added value ...

Also with the update/backdate between S1 and S2. Does that mean the S2 R3 sides and front bumper would be legal on my car...?

Might have to check this since it likely might mean drilling holes for the side skirts that otherwise were not provided from the factory on an S1 chassis. You can't make modificatons for fitment and there may even be a question about having to run a full R3 conversion except the allowed modifications per the update /backdate wording. It 's not loose and free as some people look at it sometimes.
